Laying on my back I stare up at the living room ceiling above me. This couch wasn't the greatest place to sleep, but it would have to do while Silvia remained here with me. Trying not to, I couldn't help but have my eyes flicker to the clock on the wall every now and then.
Two fourteen in the morning.
Moving my hand to my chest, I grasp the chilled amulet tightly in my hand As I lay there silently my heart races madly within my rib cage, just waiting and hoping he will come to me.
"Drake please." Biting my lower lip, I roll from my back onto my left side. With my body now facing the back of the couch, there was no way I could stop my tears from falling. Laying there I silently cried, as my hand held onto the amulet even tighter.
As I heard the wall clock chime, I now knew it was three in the morning. My body started to tremble, as I felt my heart shattering slowly inside my chest.
"Please come." Begging into the darkness around me, I somehow eventually fell asleep.
Throwing my arm over my closed tired, tear stained green eyes, a groan leaves my parted lips as the sunlight shines upon my face. Slowly opening my eyes, I sit up while hearing the birds outside the house happily chirping and singing away. My hand ran through my golden hair, as I knew he never came. He didn't come for me.
"I am pathetic." Muttering out I sigh yet again. "If he doesn't want me, then I really have no reason to stay here." By now I knew I wouldn't find out what happened to my parents, their murder would remain a mystery to me. To be fully honest with myself. The only thing holding me here in Havenbrook, is that damned pure blood vampire.
Jumping up from the couch, my body seemed to move on it's own. My feet rushed me down into the basement, as my hand flicked on the lights. Looking around the place, I spotted a flashlight, as I grabbed it tightly in my hands. Glancing around some more, my green eyes spotted a backpack hanging on the wall. Taking it with me upstairs, I placed the two items on the kitchen table. Before grabbing some food, and a water bottle.
"This time, this time I will be prepared." Muttering to myself, I hurried upstairs still wearing the clothes I fell asleep in. Entering my father's office my body again went straight to the book shelf. Pulling out the History of Havenbrook out from its place, I opened it and flipped to a page of a rough map of the forest.
About to leave the office, I froze realizing I wasn't in here alone.
"Why did you lie to me Erin?"
Slowly turning my body around, there I saw Silvia sitting behind the desk. "What?" My eyes then fell upon the folder on the desk, the folder of our parent's will. My heart started to pound in my chest. "Silvia."
"You could have told me our parents left you everything. That they didn't love me enough to leave me a single book or penny!" She choked out, as the tears fell from her lush dark green eyes. "That is why you never wanted me to come here."
"No, Silvia please. I don't know why they did what they did. I don't even want anything of theirs." As I spoke, I felt the amulet against my chest. I had the only thing I wanted, the one thing that was truly mine from them. The heirloom amulet, I would see Drake wearing one day. "Look I am sorry I didn't tell you the truth, but I really have to go right now." She sat there in tears, as I stared at the map in my hands. "Forgive me Silvia, we can talk about this all when I get back."
Grabbing a sweater I left in the office, I rushed back down to the backpack in the kitchen. Shoving both the sweater and now folded up map into the bag, I threw it on my back and ran from the house.
"Eight days." Fear rushed over me as I whispered that to myself. My running soon came to a stop, as I stared at the thick suffocating forest now before me. Drake told me to stay away from this place as I gulped nervously remembering my last time entering these trees. "If you won't come to see me, than this is the only way." Muttering under my breath, I soon disappeared deep into the darkness.
