I knew full well, that I shouldn't be here. But here I was, once again. My combat boots lead me on their own, down the hallway to where he sleeps. The words Blayze spoke to me about, I was unable to get those out of my mind.

Could it be true? Could this human, truly be my one and only mate? That one person I am destined to be with for eternity?

Truly I never once considered the possibility that my mate could be human, let alone another male. Though if he was my mate, then that would explain all my recent actions right? Doing my best to push the thoughts from my mind, with the black rose in my hand I open his bedroom and slowly enter the room.

Moonlight shone through his window, as the curtains were left opened wide. My eyes instantly landed on Erin's sleeping form. The way the moonlight bathed him in it's soft glow was breathtaking. Walking towards the bed, I gently sit down next to him so as to not walk him up. My eyes flickered to the vase of my black roses I have left him. This pleases me in a way, knowing he hasn't thrown any of them away. This human must be so curious about who leaves them for him, each and every morning.

His golden blonde hair fell across his face, reaching my hand out, my fingers gently grush his soft hair back.

At that very moment, I watched in shock as his eyes flew open, while his body scrambled away from me in fear on the bed. He voice shook in fear as he yelled out. "STAY THE HELL AWAY FR..." But the moment he met my gaze, his voice faded to silence.

Yes I saw many photos now of his beautiful green eyes, but to finally see them in person? They were truly captivating, this human really was perfect. His skin, unlike my own, was partly tanned in colour. It went well with his golden hair that I found myself enjoying, especially when it fell slightly across his eyes. This male human was handsome, he was beautiful, breathtaking. So much so, that I couldn't even look away from him.

Thirty seconds could have passed, or even ten minutes, I did not know. To me it felt like we were sitting there for an eternity just gazing into one another's eyes. Erin however soon finally dropped his gaze, as his voice soon returned, but this time it was soft and quiet. "W-who are you?" I couldn't bring myself to speak. "Why do you leave me those?"

Hearing his question I saw his gaze was now upon the rose in my hand. "Why do you keep them?" My voice finally spoke out, in it's deep smooth tone, as my crimson eyes flickered to the vase holding all the previous roses I brought.

My eyes flickered back to Erin, I could sense his fear from where I sat. Vampires always get a ride of pleasure from the fear humans give off. Though at this moment, I didn't like that he feared me.

"Tell me who you are." His voice tried to sound brave, but I heard the shaking in it still.

As our eyes lock together once more, the soft glow of the moon bathes us both in it's soft light through the window.

A sensation traveled throughout my body as I knew one thing, I had to get out of here. In an instant my body jumped up from the bed, I saw him flinch in fear at my sudden movements. Though I rushed towards the door, instead to escape this human.

"WAIT!" My body froze, as I felt sudden warmth pass throughout my hand. I stood there silently as I glanced down, to see Erin's hand grasped onto mine. "Please, who are you? Why do you come here every night?" Did this human not fear me? When I still did not answer he only asked another question. "The first night I arrived in Havenbrook, it was you wasn't it? The man who followed me here, through the storm."

"Yes." I exhaled deeply, to keep myself in check.

"But why?"

This human let his curiosity take over the fear he should be feeling. After all, I was a strange man breaking into his home. He should be afraid I may harm him, kill him even. Yet this moment he didn't show any fear or doubt towards my presence.
