"Mom what's that?" A young boy around the age of eight asked his mother in a curious tone of voice. He stood there with golden blonde hair, and bright sparkling green eyes.
Very interested he watched with curious eyes, as his mother picked up the tiny sheer jewelry bag. From where he stood, he could see something lying within the bag, but couldn't make it out.
"This is an ancient family heirloom dear."
Tilting his head in confusion, the young boy asked another question now. "What is a heirloom?"
"This is a special item that has been passed down, to every first born child in our family for hundreds of years now. My father gave it to me, and when you are old enough darling. One day you will learn the truth, and this will finally be yours."
"The truth about what mom? Is it a treasure?"
The mother giggled at her son's imagination. She placed the small sheer bag into a tiny wooden box, that keeps it hidden for safe keeping. "One day, one day it will all make sense." Hugging the small boy, she smiled softly at him. "Trust me Erin, for now just forget you ever saw it."
My eyes suddenly opened wide, as I felt something softly brush along my cheek. Looking up, I found myself staring up into the crimson eyes of Drake.
"Drake." Whispering his name, he held out his hand to me, as he helped me stand to my feet.
"Erin? Why are you sleeping here on the ground? And why on earth was the front door unlocked?" Worry sounded in his voice.
"I uhh..." Looking at where I was, I realize I was in the same place as after Blayze left a couple hours prior. "Didn't realize I fell asleep."
"Your eyes are red, Erin were you crying?" Drake asked, while he pulled me into a tight embrace.
My mind is still a little foggy and confused from that dream. I mean it was only a dream right? Or was it a memory I couldn't remember. All I remember was Blayze coming over. "I had a dream of my mother from when I was a young boy, guess I was crying in my sleep." Lying I wrapped my arms around his strong body. "You never came the past two days Drake."
"I am sorry Erin, I was needed with my coven."
"What happened?"
"Nothing you need to worry about. Besides I am here now." He smiled softly down at me.
As I stared up at his smile, the news Blayze told me hit my heart hard once again. "Why did you never tell me!" Suddenly I blurted out in anger.
"What?" He stared at me shocked, as I pushed his body away from mine.
"Why the fuck didn't you tell me that I only had ten more days Drake! Ten days left to either bond myself with you, or lose you forever!"
Drake suddenly glanced around the room. His eyes flickered like fire. "I thought I sensed another's presence. Blayze was here." He growled out deeply.
"Why the fuck didn't you tell me!" I yelled again, ignoring his angry growl. "What would you have done if these ten days passed by without me, without us." My voice started to crack, as I felt the tears forming once more, but I blinked them back.
"Because Erin, I truly believe you would be happier living a normal human life. Than to share a life bonded to a monster."
"I already told you Drake, you are not a monster!"
"Yes I am Erin, I always will be a monster. You have no idea how many humans I have killed, in these past four hundred years I have been alive. I hate all humans, I don't value any human lives. None except for one, yours."
