"So. How are things going with your little human?"
The moment I stepped foot into the forest, just before the sun had time to rise. I was met with Blayze, as he leaned against a tree watching me knowingly. "Things are good."
"Then why hasn't he bonded with you yet?"
"Blayze don't."
"Drake." He gave me a look I couldn't ignore.
"He is unsure of what he wants. He is afraid of giving up his entire life he has going to be with me."
"How much time has passed?"
"Blayze I mean it, stay out of it." Shoving past my cousin, I walk deeper into the dense forest of trees.
"Damn it Drake." I heard the deep growl from my younger cousin from behind. Only to feel his tight grasp on my arm, as he shoved my back now against a tree. He stood there with a menacing look upon his face, as he glared at me. "How damn fucking long?" His greenish blue eyes glaring into my own crimson ones, flickered red for a moment. "Tell me damn it! Since the day you both looked into one another's eyes. How many days have past!"
His grip on my arm tightened, as his eyes flickered red once more in anger.
Slumping my shoulders knowing he is acting out about this, because he is concerned and worried about me. "Just over two weeks now, it is coming up to three weeks." The words I spoke quietly, echoed around us in the darkness of the trees.
"Drake."
"I have twelve more days with Erin before the mating bond ends. But at this rate he will not bond with me in time."
"Have you explained this to him? about what happens after these twelve days. Have you not told him the truth?"
"Like I said before Blayze, stay the fuck out of it." Shoving my cousin away from me, I start to walk deeper into the tree's darkness. All while the sun starts to rise over the town of Havenbrook outside of the forest.
"What the fuck would you do Drake, what would you do if the thirteenth day passes by. And at that moment, he tells you he wishes to bond with you forever. That he never wants to leave your side, that he wants to be yours. He would be too late, he needs to know the truth!"
Freezing in my step, I glanced towards my cousin who was behind me. There was a forty-nine year gap between the two of us. I know out of all our coven, I am the only one Blayze truly looks up to as an elder. "I." Letting out a deep sigh, I speak the truth I knew my cousin feared the most. "That would kill me Blayze. Knowing that he truly wanted to be my mate forever, but knowing I could never touch him again. It would lead to my death." Pushing a hand of mine through my black hair, I knew Erin deserved to know. I knew that much. "I just don't want him to rush this choice. Choosing me, means he has to give up so much of his life. His career is important to him, he has a sister out there who needs him. Can I truly expect him to want to give up all of that, just for me?"
"If he loves you, he will Drake."
"That is the problem Blayze. I know I love him, but I don't think he feels as strongly for me in the same way."
Watching as Blayze parted his lips, he was about to argue what I just said when we both heard a loud call from the depth of the trees.
"BLAYZE!" We stood there in silence as they called out once again. "BLAYZE! DRAKE! WHERE ARE YOU TWO!"
"Logan?" Questioning what was happening, we saw our second eldest run through the trees. His pale skin was dripping with sweat, as his pale bluish hair flew around his face. Catching his breath, he tried to speak. Logan was always the weakest one out of all of us, when it came to endurance. His powers were strong yes, but using a lot of energy tired the guy out quickly.
