Sitting in the wide opened window of my room, my back leans against the solid wood window frame. This window was large enough to allow me to sit in such a place. I could always be found here in this exact position, my body and one leg propped up on the window sill before me, the other leg dangling inside my bedroom. My back against the frame, I sit there silently and just stare out into the darkness of the world around me.
My black hair starts to sway gently, as a deep gust of wind manages its way through the dense trees surrounding us. My deep crimson red eyes, locked on to the thick dense forest. It was astounding, that breezes like that managed to make their way through the forest. Yet they did.
My body suddenly feels a pulsating sensation pass throughout myself. My crimson eyes looked up towards the top of the thick trees, a grin found it's way onto my lips for a moment before it faded. In the air I could sense it, a huge thunderstorm would be upon Havenbrook very soon.
Glancing down to my right hand, I raise it up and squeeze my fist tightly together. Bright light shines from my closed hand, as I open my fist up quickly, sparks of electricity fly up into the air from my palm.
My hand falls back down, dangling at my side as my eyes close. I lean my head back against the window frame in silence. After a moment my deep voice whispers darkly to no one, just the silence around me. "How I hate this life."
One hundred and twelve years have now passed, since the day I brought my remaining family back to Havenbrook. Back to the very same place, that vampires made themselves known to this world five thousand years ago.
For us to survive, we stay hidden in the darkness of the shadows that the forest gives us. Very rarely, do we step foot into the small peaceful town. We will only enter the town late at night, looking for a poor human to feed off of. However this is only a last resort for us, we only do this if our hunger cravings grow too strong. We limit hunting to the town, as to not give away our presence to those of Havenbrook.
For the past one hundred and twelve years, we lived in peace and secrecy. IF our presence ever was known, we would be in danger once more. Hunters know we are still out there, they fear myself and my four cousins more than anything in this world. They fear the powers that we all possess. If they knew we were so close to the peaceful town that started it all, they would stop at nothing but to destroy us.
A deep heavy, exhausted sigh escapes my parted lips. My mind drifts off, to the life that we once knew and lived.
The Thorned Rose Coven has always been moving from place to place, avoiding the Hunters since the day I was born. However our Coven was far more than just five back then. My parents were strong, and fearless. The day I lost them, that was the day my heart turned black, the day I started to hate this very world and life.
There was once a time when I was a young vampire, I didn't always dress in black or leather. However as the years passed, I found myself turning deeper towards the darkness everyday.
Lost deep in my dark thoughts, my eyes flew open at the feeling of something jumping up onto my lap. Looking down to my lap, my deep crimson eyes landed on the orange, brown and white cat.
Staring at her for a moment, I sigh giving into her requests and raise my hand to scratch at her ear. "What are you doing up here Hazel? You never willingly enter my room, hmm?" Her response was only to purr at the attention she was now receiving, as her soft fur covered head rubbed against my hand.
When Xavier, my youngest cousin first brought this poor creature into our coven, I told him to get rid of her. This place was not for the likes of a cat. Besides she would have belonged to a human. Xavier begged and pleaded with me.
