Chapter 29. Somebody Else

I hear Two yell out something, but i wasn't sure if it was towards Soda, me, or Steve. I saw Johnny's face expressions change faster than it had before. But i also saw he had Soda's jacket in his hands. I see Steve running up to Soda about 50 feet away. He pulls out a gun and points it at Soda.

Soda had no clue what was happening behind him. I heard the gun go off 2 times. I had a quick reaction and Pushed Soda down.

I got hit by both bullets. One grazed my shoulder, and one felt like it went through my ribs. I saw the blood come out as it hit me.

Soda looked up at me in shock. I looked down at him crying.  Steve dropped the gun and ran to me. Two took the gun, and ran to Soda. While Johnny ran to me.

Steve came up to me, but i tried not to fall. Johnny tried keeping me up but I fell in Steve's arms.

I could feel the pain. But not as bad as when I got stabbed over a year ago. I could feel my heart beating, and my blood pumping through me like lightning.

Everyone tried helping, but i had enough strength to barely stand up. Johnny got angry. I could feel the fury build in him.

Johnny grabbed the gun and tried pointing it to Steve. I tried grabbing the gun away from him. Everyone was trying to pull it away. Except Soda. Soda tried to stay back away as far as possible.

I felt my finger slip on the trigger. But it didn't shoot. I had my finger near the trigger again. But Steve pushed his finger on mine causing it to fully shoot.

Hearing the gunshot made my ears ring. I saw blood coming from Johnny's arm. " It just grazed me."

I could tell he was in pain. But I looked over at Soda and he was on the ground. Everybody saw Soda. Almost lifeless on the floor with blood coming out the sid of him.

I push Steve out of the way. I was so weak, but i needed Soda to be okay.         "Soda! No..." I hovered over him trying to wake him up.

Johnny was holding his arm but tried to get me off of Soda. " Brodi get off of him! Your bleeding more than him. He'll be fine. Trust me."

Steve stood to the side in shock. Two bit tried picking me up away from Soda. I started crying trying my best to reach Soda again.

Two pushed on my stomach while picking me up. Which made blood come out of my mouth. Two didn't notice. The blood dripped right by Soda's legs.

I tried clawing Twobit to get to Soda. I was crying historically. Johnny couldn't bare to watch me. 

I decided to give up. My body became limp and Two took me to the other side of the street away from Soda. I just wanted to be near Soda.

Everything was going through my mind, every second of Dally's death. Also Pony's. I looked up and the sky was getting darker. I could only see the light hue of orange and purple. I closed my eyes in pain. My eyes were burning, my shoulder and stomach were stinging. But Soda was right. Im not dumb, or lost. Im just broken...
