*District 21*

Ana walks downstairs and through the gate, spotting Trudy handing a certain patrolman some keys.

"Hey, Trudy. What's going on?" She wondered.

"Burgess and Roman were just about to cover 2114's beat up and down lovely Roosevelt." The Desk Sergeant replied as Ana turned to said Officers.

"Well, you two mind if I join?" She inquired. "Even though I really don't need a reason to bail on the taser certification, I'd rather not watch the team go through it." Ana explained.

"You know I don't mind." Kim reminded her.

Back when Kevin was still her partner, Ana had joined them on patrol a few times on various slow days.

"Sure. What could possibly go wrong?" Sean shrugged.

"You did not just say that." Ana groaned.

The two Officers laughed as the three made their way to the door.

"Have fun you three!" Trudy called, receiving a thumbs up from her best friend in reply.

"'88, huh?" Sean asked in confirmation from behind the wheel.

"Yeah." Kim smiled from the passenger seat.

"I was '89. Let me guess your prom song." He offered.

"You're not gonna get it." Kim warned.

"Nah, I'm pretty good at this. High school prom, let's see. '88, that'd make your graduation year 2006?" Sean questioned.

"Yeah." Kim confirmed.

"You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true." He sang.

"You got it." Kim laughed.

"I saw your face in a crowded place." Ana continued from the back.

"And I don't know what to do." Kim joined in.

"Cause I'll never be with you." The three finished together, laughing afterwards.

"Let me ask you something. You think I'm in a rut?" Kim questioned.

"I'm not touching that one." Sean replied.

"What do you mean?" Ana inquired.

"I just- I keep wondering if I shouldn't have turned down Intelligence, I mean, this is my future. Day after day, working a beat. Is it exciting enough for you?" Kim wondered.

"Asks the girl who got shot in the face." Sean retorted.

"I don't know." Kim sighed.

"God, you're a barrel of laughs today, Burgess." He remarked.

"I want something different for my life, and I do nothing to change the outcome, and I was given the chance to go wherever I wanted, and I did absolutely nothing, and what does it say about me?" Kim wondered as Sean pulled into the parking lot of a small store.

"Squad, hold us down on a personal at 4215 Roosevelt." He radioed.

"Copy that. 4215 Roosevelt."

"You really want an honest to God answer?" Sean questioned.

"Yeah, I do. I do." Kim replied as he turned to look at Ana.

"Hey, Sarge, what's your opinion on this?" He wondered.

"Who the hell cares?" She smirked.

"Thank you." Kim smiled as the three hopped out and walked into the store.
