someone on tumblr asked for a pt 2

"Come here, come here, bud." Link said in his baby voice.

"Link he's not a dog." Amelia giggled holding her sons hands. They were in their living room trying to get their son to walk again. He hadn't since they were in the OR gallery earlier that day.

"Maybe he didn't even walk when he got to the glass maybe he crawled." Link suggested.

"Oh he definitely walked then Link."

"I thought you didn't want him walking yet." Link laughed, he loved it when Amelia would contradict herself.

"Well we know he can do it."

"None of us actually saw him though."

"But he did. I know he did." Amelia started talking with her hands so she wasn't holding her sons anymore.

"I'm starting to think he just crawled and then propped himself up."

"Link, he wouldn't have the strength to lift himself up."

"But he has enough strength to walk?" He started laughing and Amelia joined him. They were pulled out of the moment when their son started crying and was not where he was previously. He was beside the coffee table opposite of Link. He must of bumped into it and the corner left a scratch on his cheek.

"Oh god." Amelia jumped to her sons side and picked him up. She immediately started looking for signs of neurological deficits.

"Is he okay?" Link was frozen in place and panicking internally.

"I think...no blood, there doesn't seem to be neurological deficits, but we didn't see him fall he could've fallen on his head we should get a head ct right?"

"Uhh yeah, yeah couldn't hurt. Oh god how did we let's this happen." Link asked frantically getting up to get the keys and heading to the car.

"Soooo, you want me to give your son a head ct because he has a little scratch on his face?" Koracick asked amused.

"Tom, come on. It's better safe than sorry."

"Shepherd, there are no signs of a neurological issue. He's not sluggish, he's alert, he's not crying. We put him in a ct it exposes him to unnecessary radiation. And if he did hit his head, which you don't even know happened or not, it couldn't of been that hard. Just watch the kid and baby proof your house." Tom said exiting the room.

"God Link why didn't we baby proof before. I'm so stupid." Amelia had her face in between her hands as she started to cry. He wrapped his arm around her trying to comfort her.

"Amelia your not stupid. We were distracted. Granted we should've been paying attention but he's gonna be fine. He was bound to get hurt at some point. Now let's go home." Amelia only nodded in response.

"He's down." Amelia said as she entered the living room. Link was working on covering the sharp corners in their living room. He just completed putting outlet covers on all the outlets in the apartment.

"Okay good." His girlfriend came to sit down on the floor next to him while he worked. "Are you still mad at yourself? Because you shouldn't be."

"Of course I'm still mad at myself Link. But the important thing is he's okay."

"He's okay." Link repeated.

"You got this Scout, come here." Link cheered on a couple of feet away from his girlfriend and son.

"Your such a big strong boy!" Scout let go of his mothers hands as he made his way over to his dad. He was halfway there when he stumbled and fell. He hesitated for a moment before he started giggling, his parents joining in.

"Okay let's try this again." Link said picking his son up. He propped him up and held on to his hands. "Go to mommy."

"Oh my gosh! Your such a big boy! He did it he actually did it Link!" Scout had made his way over to his mother enthusiastically.

"Good job bud!" Link congratulated his son he successfully made it over to his mother.

"If anyone asks this is when he took his first steps." This statement caused Link to laugh.

"You got it."

"Can you believe he did it?"

"No I can't." Link said looking into his girlfriends eyes.

"Alright let's do it again bud. Go back Link." Amelia said as she propped her son up, directing him towards his father. The couple worked on their sons walking skills for the rest of the night, being very cautious this time.
