"I'm so glad we got to do this, I feel like I never see you anymore." Maggie said as her and her sister sat down at the restaurant.
"Yeah, me too." Amelia smiled as she placed the car seat with the sleeping baby in it next to her. "So tell me everything going on with you and Winston."
"He's moving to Seattle."
"Oh my god what?!" Amelia gasped, in surprise. "That's amazing why didn't you mention it!?"
"I wanted to sit down and tell you, not when we were in surgery or just passing."
"This is great! Does Meredith know?"
"No not yet, I'm worried about telling her."
"Why? She seems to like him-" A voice interrupting Amelia's statement.
"Hey ladies, what can I get you two today?" The waiter asked the women.
"Two Pepsi's and two BLT combos please." Maggie smiled reciting their usual order.
"Okie dokie, I'll get that right out." The waiter said walking away.
"So are you gonna talk to Bailey and try to get him a job at Grey-Sloan or is he applying else where."
"I haven't talked to Bailey yet, he asked me not to. He's applying to a bunch of places he doesn't want it to seem like I'm only recommending him because he's my boyfriend."
"He has good morals." Amelia smirked.
"It doesn't feel real, he's just so perfect." Maggie gushed, sure she'd had loved before but this was different.
"I'm glad you found him, he seems so much better than Jackson. I couldn't stand him if I'm being honest. So how is the living situation going to work?"
"That's why I'm nervous to tell Mer, he's getting an apartment, and it seemed like he assumed I was going to move in-"
"Here's your drinks." The waiter kindly smiled, while he placed the two cups down. The two thanked the man and continued in their conversation.
"So what do you want? Do you want to move in with him?"
"I do...eventually. It's just we're moving so fast and what about Mer and the kids?"
"Meredith knows your not going to live with her forever, I'm sure they'd miss you but they would understand."
"I know." Maggie rested her head on her hand and stirred the straw around the drink. "I'd miss them though, and I don't want to leave them."
"It's seem like you two have a lot to talk about but there are options, you can just live separately for now, you can move in with him, or he can move into Mer's."
"I wouldn't want to subject him to the chaos that is Meredith's house." Maggie chuckled, nighttime was always a fight.
"Just talk to him about it, don't rush it or push yourself whatever happens happens." Amelia said as she picked up the baby who had started fussing. "In the bag next to you there should be a cover could I have it?"
"Yeah here it is." Maggie passed the cover to her sister as her sister allowed her son to eat. "So I guess Meredith is with Hayes now she had him over the other night."
"At the house? Did the kids see him?" Amelia gasped as she readjusted her son on her breast. "It's moments like this I hate that I moved out."
"It was really late, so the kids were all asleep. I think she thought I was asleep to."
"I'd like them together. I didn't care for her and Deluca."
"I agree, oh I was in surgery with Link the other day, he mentioned his parents are coming into town are you nervous? I mean isn't this your first time meeting them?"
"I've met them before their nice, I am nervous though. I feel like they hate me, I don't know but they've been dying to meet Scout. I'm sure it'll be fine though."
"Here you guys go." The waiter said as he placed down the two plates on the table. "Oh- I'm sorry ma'am you can't do that here."
"Feed my baby?" Amelia chuckled, thinking he was joking.
"It's just restaurant protocol." He stated, visibly uncomfortable.
"It's perfectly legal for her to breastfeed her baby in public, there are laws." Maggie stepped in.
"Sorry, it's just how things work here." Amelia rolled her eyes to this.
"It's fine I'll just go to the bathroom."
"I'm really sorry but we don't have stalls it's just a singular family bathroom, and since breastfeeding can take 20-40 minutes it's just not fair to our other customers."
"I'll just go to my car." Amelia sighed, rather annoyed.
"No, don't go to your car. There's nothing wrong with this I mean she's covered, which even if she wasn't would be perfectly legal." Maggie was starting to get annoyed with the worker.
"It's just making other customers uncomfortable."
"Who? There's like no one around us." Maggie laughed in disbelief she saw a man sitting alone totally engrossed in a book. "Hey you! Are you uncomfortable that she's feeding her baby?"
"Uhh no." The man looked up confused and the quickly went back to reading his book.
"Just this once I'll let you since it's pretty empty today, but just so you know its just not something you can do here. It's just not how our restaurant works." The waiter said walking away.
"This is ridiculous!" Maggie said as he walked away, and crossed her arms.
"It happens all the time, Maggie. It's ridiculous but it's just what happens. All over the media they promote breasts but once your out in public and a woman's feeding her baby it's promiscuous." Amelia sighed.
"This has happened before? It's 2020!"
"A hand full of times, happened the other day at the park. Link got so mad." Amelia chuckled recalling Link debating this old woman at the park.
"I totally forgot to ask, how'd his doctors appointment go?"
"Clean bill of health." Amelia brightly smiled, relieved her son was healthy and developing well. "Even took his shots like a little trooper."
"That's good, I always hate giving babies shots. Their little screams are just heartbreaking."
"He's a little chunky he probably didn't even feel it." Amelia jokingly said as she admired the baby who was looking up at her.
"I can't believe how big he's getting. It's feels like just yesterday he was born."
"Yeah he's growing up so much it's terrifying. I just want him to stay a sweet little baby forever."
"I don't know how you and Meredith do it. The love I feel for your kids is just incredible I couldn't imagine the constant fear.
"Me either, it just becomes the norm I guess. If it's something you want though you'd be okay."
"I'm content just stealing your kids." Maggie chuckled.
"Well you can steal Scout whenever you want."
"Why thank you." Maggie smiled brightly.
