the two stories are things that happened in my high school, the upd was a real thing and the lab story happened to me
"How do you not like baseball?" Link questioned as he put their son into his car seat. Excitement starting to build up for taking his son to his first baseball game.
"I never said that I didn't like baseball it just seems dangerous." Amelia defended herself as she got into the car.
"You're a neurosurgeon you think everything is dangerous." Link said while laughing.
"Link! This isn't funny sports can be very dangerous!" Amelia said starting to get a little upset.
"What when Scouts old enough we're never enrolling him into a sport?" Link asked while pulling out of the drive way.
"Exactly! See I knew you'd get a hang of it!"
"Amelia, we are not raising Scout to be afraid of getting hurt."
"I'm not saying that, he can do soccer! There are less brain related injuries. Oh! Maybe even tennis, chess, or marching band!"
"Really? Marching band? I didn't know I tied my life to someone who thinks marching band is a sport."
"Hey! Have you even seen a marching band?"
"Yeah a multitude of times. Oh. My. God you were a band kid weren't you Amelia!"
"I did color guard for two seasons, then I got kicked out the next year because I was in possession of pills. And anyway all my siblings did marching band it was something my mother made us do."
"Hmm"
"Hmm what?" Amelia questioned starting to get defensive.
"Just didn't know you were such a nerd"
"I was not a nerd!"
"Hmm"
"Let me guess you were on the football team for the fall season and baseball for the spring?" Amelia asked sarcastically.
"Actually for the fall season I was in the UPD and for the spring I did lacrosse. Jokes on you." Link laughed while nudging into Amelia slightly.
"Lacrosse? That is so freaking dangerous! And what the hell is a UPD"
"The underground pound dogs. Our high school was not the best at football but freshmen year after we won a game 0-10 a group of guys got together and hyped up the team at the games. The cheerleaders would paint our chests, we would hype up the crowd and when ever we scored rang the bell. Not to mention us making fun of the band kids playing the stand tunes. But my senior year it got shut down because the hazing got too bad."
"Atticus Lincoln! You were apart of hazing?!"
"Ah the authorities blew it way out of proportion. We would just have people drink a gallon of milk and run a mile, the goal was to not throw up in 100 degree heat."
"I have no words." Amelia dramatically said as she crossed her eyes and looked forward. "We should have left earlier this traffic is insane."
"I have never met someone so impatient upon traffic." Link giggled.
"I have never met a hazer." Amelia replied in a snarky manner.
"Ah come on tell me a story from your high school days."
"I have none...Well once my lab partner and I were dissecting a frog and he brought weed to school that day, and he asked if before we stitched the frog up if we could put the weed in the frog because he had gotten scared to have it in his possession. I obviously shut that idea down but we were at lunch and he puts it in his mac and cheese cup with no water and it caused a mini fire." Amelia said nonchalantly.
"What happened to the kid?"
"Nothing, the incident report went down as an accident. No one ever found out about the weed, I don't know how the guy was always high as a kite." Laughed Amelia.
"I hope Scout doesn't encounter anything like we did in high school." Link remarked.
"God I hope so." Amelia agreed. "We're not going to make the game are we?"
"Nope." Laughed Link. "We'll get off at the next exit and get burgers with fries."
"It's always an adventure with you isn't it." Giggled Amelia.
