TW THROW UP, ADDICTION, MENTIONS OF DEATH

"Amelia? Are you okay?" Lizzie asked her fifteen year old sister, who was rinsing put her mouth after throwing up.

"Yeah I'm fine." Amelia said shakily, she was coming down from her high a lot faster than she had anticipated. Her stash was supposed to get her through until tomorrow afternoon. "Just some food poisoning."

"Are you sure? Amy you look really pale, and your sweating?"

"I'm fi-" She wasn't able to finish her sentence, because of the bile in the back of her throat.

"Oh gosh, you probably got the flu." Lizzie kneeled down to hold her sisters hair back. As the youngest threw up, her sister was rubbing her back in attempt to comfort her.

"Hey Liz, did you finish the chemistry homework?" Kathleen asked barging into the bathroom focused on the notebook in her hand. "Oh- Amy are you okay?"

"I'm literally fine, just leave me alone guys." Amelia said hoisting herself off from the floor, almost losing her balance. She made her way to the sink to rinse our her mouth, before barging out of the small bathroom the siblings all shared.

"You can just copy my worksheet. It's in my backpack." Lizzie responded.

"Is she okay?" Kathleen asked.

"Flu, probably."

"Should I call mom?"

"I don't know, ask Nance she's in charge since ma is working tonight." Liz responded slightly bitter. Whenever Nancy was in charge it meant no freedom and a strict schedule, but that was to be expected with her being the oldest. The two left the bathroom and went downstairs to where Nancy was in the study completing the remainder of her homework.

"Amelia's sick." Kathleen said walking into the study with her sister.

"What? What's wrong?" Nancy asked spinning around abruptly in the chair.

"She was throwing up earlier, and she's pale, sweating, and shaking. I'm guessing the flu." Lizzie informed her older sister. Nancy sat there for a moment looking contemplative.

"She's probably withdrawing." Nancy said bitterly turning back around.

"What?! From what? Amy doesn't do drugs." Kathleen asked shocked, she couldn't imagine her baby sister getting caught up in something like that.

"That new boy she's been hanging out with is bad news." Nancy informed her sisters.

"No, Amy wouldn't do drugs." Lizzie said unconvinced. "She seems like, sick. Like flu type sick."

"Fine, let me go check on her." Nancy got up from the chair, but first went to the kitchen to grab a bowl Incase her sister had to throw up again. Then made her way upstairs to the shared bedroom of the two youngest siblings. The three found Amelia shaking on the bottom bunk. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine." Amelia snapped, annoyed with the accusations. "Just leave me alone."

"Amelia what are you on?" Nancy asked kneeling down to her sisters bed, placing the bowl next to her which Amelia hugged onto tightly.

"I don't know what your talking about."

"Mom and everyone in this house maybe oblivious but I'm not what are you on Amy?" Nancy snapped losing her patience. She couldn't understand why her sister was doing this, their mother tried her very best, and she didn't know why Amy was trying to make everything ten times more complicated for their mother.

"Oxy." Amelia whispered, causing Kathleen to gasp. Nancy placed two of her fingers on the youngests wrist.

"Your heart rates pretty fast. We should probably get you to the hospital." Nancy sighed pushing a strand of Amelia's hair behind her ear so it was out of the way of her sweaty face.

"No, no. I swear I won't ever do it again Nancy. And I'm so so so sorry. It'll never happen again." Amelia abruptly sat up, once she finished her sentence she wretched into the bowl.

"Amy.." Lizzie started only for her to be cut off.

"It'll never happen again. Please don't tell mommy she'd be devastated please." Amelia begged. Nancy turned around to look at her sisters.

"Okay fine, but if you get any worse we're taking you to the hospital. And if I ever find out you've been doing drugs again I'm telling mom immediately."

"Thank you." Amelia appreciatively smiled.

"I can't watch this. I'm going to go finish my homework." Kathleen left the room quickly, Lizzie following right behind her. Leaving only Amelia and Nancy in the room.

"What the hell were you thinking?" Nancy asked moving to sit on the bed so she could braid her sisters hair so she didn't throw up in it.

"I don't know. Leave me alone. I dont need you here."

"Too bad I'm staying. Mom can't survive another death in the this family."

"I didn't die Nancy calm down."

"That's where your heading." Amelia rolled her eyes in response. "Let's get you cleaned up Amy."

Nancy sighed, she always worried for her little sister. She knew eventually the aftermath of their fathers death would catch up to her, but she wasnt ready for this. She lead her sister into the bathroom, helping her get into the shower and waiting outside the bathroom door until her sister asked for her assistance.

"Where the hall is she?" Derek asked storming through the hallway.

"She's in the shower." Nancy responded.

"Lizzie says your not going to tell mom?"

"No, I'm not. She's gonna be fine Der."

"And how do you know that?" He asked sliding down against the door so he was seated next to his oldest sister.

"I don't." The pair sat in silence until Nancy spoke up again. "I wish dad were here, so mom wouldn't have to go through this alone."

"Me too." Derek sniffled quickly so his sister didn't realize he started to cry when she brought up their father. "He'd know exactly what to say to keep Amy in line."

"This wouldn't of happened if he were still here."

"It's kinda weird." Derek chuckled. "Amy was the one who had spent the less time with Dad but she's the most like him. In the sense of his stubbornness and his passion."

"Yeah." Nancy smiled thinking about her dad. She knew they never talked about their father, but they were on a roll and she had been wanting to talk about their father more. "Are you still mad about what happen?"

"Of course I'm still mad. How could someone just walk into a store and kill someone."

"No not at the men at dad." Derek cocked his head looking at his sister confused. "Like maybe if he just gave up the watch, he'd still be here."

"I never really thought about that." Derek said slowly, he'd always focused his anger on the men who killed them. He hadn't even though about that side of the story. The door then flung open sending the two flat on their backs, while an annoyed Amelia rolled her eyes at them and stepped over the pair stumbling her way to her bedroom.

"What are we going to do about Amy?" Nancy asked turning her head to her brother as the two still laid flat on the floor.

"We don't tell mom. I don't know how much more she can take. Amy is smart hopefully this withdrawal has scared her enough into never pulling this shit again."

"And if it doesn't, and she does this again?"

"Then." Derek hesitated for a moment. "We'll figure it out as a family like we always do."
