Good Ending:Season 3 Episode 21

   •3rd person pov:
   Steven is seen playing a difficult video game on his TV while the Gems cheer him on.
"Oh my goodness!" Pearl yells, moving her hand over her mouth in shock.
"Go for it, bro!" Amethyst cheers, raising her hands in the air, smiling proudly.
"This is your last chance." Garnet warns, using her future vision to see him dying if he screws the controls up.
"No... No...! Jump... Jump...!" Steven yells, sweat rolling down his face as he strains himself in concentration.
(Steven's character dies as he misses a jump, ending the level with a 'GAME OVER' screen.
"Aww!" Steven yells in unison, along with Amethyst and Pearl. Garnet just chuckles and ruffles Stevens hair.
"Dying a bunch in video games is emotionally exhausting. Huh?" Steven says, a noise to his right gaining his attention.
   Steven and the Crystal Gems all turn to spot lion shuffling around Stevens belongings, only for Lion to pull out one of his t-shirts.
"Lion!" Steven yells, disappointed in his big pet.
    Steven runs down and tries to pull the shirt away from Lion's mouth.
"Drop it!" Steven yells, pointing at lion and lowering his finger.
   Steven successfully pulls the shirt from Lion and falls backwards on the ground.
"Lion, you can't chew this up." Steven warns looking down at his shirt. The shirt reads "Thunder Bird- Always Remember"
"How else am I going to remember the time I rode the Thunder Bird at Funland?" Steven jokes to Lion.
   Steven puts the shirt on his dresser, next to his Thunder Bird badge and Thunder Bird photo frame. Steven then walks back up the stairs to his bed and sits in front of the tv, turning on his game console.
"Okay, I'm sure this time...." Steven begins, only to get caught off guard by the sound of rustling of things to his side catching his attention.
Steven turns and sees Lion, who has climbed onto the dresser and grabbed Steven's shirt once again.
"Lion! Don't even think about it!" Steven yells, jumping up off the ground and down the stairs and back to Lion and his dresser.
Lion attempts to head for the door, but Steven jumps in to block his path. He then grabs the shirt and pulls it away from Lion again.
Steven "Since you can't play nice, I'm gonna have to put this where you can't get it: In ya mane!" Steven yells as he teasingly pokes Lions nose.
   Lion grumbles and begrudgingly lays down. "Thank you, boo." Steven says, laughing and jumping into Lions mane.
    Steven is then teleported to his quiet place, the pink grass waving as a slight breeze wheezes past him. He keeps his mouth closed, holding his breath and not wanting to breathe due to the lack of oxygen inside of Lion. He walks over to the hill, his flip flops flopping and he reaches the tree. He jumps up and onto a branch, draping the shirt over the branch he's currently on. 'There we go. Now it'll be safe forever, hanging in this perfectly stable magic tree.' Steven thinks, taking in his surroundings from his high ground.
   The tree branch soon snaps, sending Steven plummeting to the ground. Only Steven doesn't land on the pink hill, instead he's bounced off of two bubbles and launched back through Lion and into his living room. Steven lands on his back and hears the Crystal Gems cheering for Amethyst.
"Jump! Jump!" Garnet cheers, her fists moving up and down.
"I am jumping!" Amethyst screeches, never taking her eyes off the screen.
   Lion chews on one of Stevens shirts as Steven yells:
"I've made a horrible mistake!!"
"Wha?!" Pearl shrieks, looking down at Steven on the ground.
   Amethyst loses the game, the screen going black as the words "GAME OVER" are showed in big, bold, red letters.
"Aww man...." Amethyst pouts, tossing the controller on the ground.
"Hold on, I can fix it!" Steven yells, diving back into Lions mane.
   Steven walks over to the hill in Lions pocket dimension and attempts to bubble up the two gems that are laid on the grass, only for the rectangular rainbow gem lights up and lifts itself off the ground, a big, buff, gray body forms around the gem. The gray gem is soon formed, her rainbow dreadlocks laying softly on her shoulders. She gets in a fighting position, looking down at Steven's head, ready to strike at this unknown thing. Steven falls back in fear, being tossed outside of the pocket dimension and back into his living room.
   Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet all surround Steven, looking down at him with curiosity.
"There are gems inside of Lions mane!" Steven yells, startling the gems.
"Gems?" Pearl asks, resting her hand underneath her chin.
"Describe them." Garnet says, looking down at Steven.
"Uhh...hang on a sec." Steven says, diving back into Lions mane.
   Steven pokes his head out of the grass, his mouth closed once more to hold his breath. He spots the gem as she looks around, she spots him as he watches her.
"Hey wait!" The gem yells, running over to Steven.
   Steven ducks back out of the grass and back into reality. He looks up at the gems as they stare down at him in concern.
"She's big." Steven begins, putting his head back into Lion, the gem right in front of him.
"Huh? Hey! Don't go!" The gem yells, bringing her hand out towards Steven.
   He dives back into reality with the gems.
"With rainbow hair and tattoos!" Steven says.
"Rainbow hair?" Pearl says, looking up at Garnet.
"What does her gem look like?" Pearl asks Steven.
"It's an innie." Steven exclaims.
"It can't be...." Pearl begins, grasping her chin with her hand.
"What does the other gem look like Steven?" Amethyst asks, crouching down to Steven's height.
"Uhhh, there was only one reformed gem. The other one hasn't reformed yet. But I think it was....a weird bluish purple color." Steven explains, focusing on the thin gems characteristics.
"A weird bluish purple?" Garnet asks, looking down at Pearl and Amethyst.
"What was the shape of it?!" Amethyst yells, grasping Stevens shoulders.
"Uh...uh...the gem had a circular bottom and then a pointy top." Steven answers, looking into Amethysts eyes with determination.
"Y/N...."Pearl whispers, covering her mouth with her hands, shock drawn on all of her features.
"Wait but we have Y/N here, right?" Amethyst asks, looking up at Garnet.
"Well Lion is somehow connected to Rose, so perhaps Rose put Y/N into Lion. Steven, bring them out!" Garnet says, looking down at Steven.
   Steven nods and dives back into Lion, his head poking out. He looks around, not spotting the gem at all. The gem is suddenly in front of him as she bounces in front of his face.
"Hey little friend!" The gem yells, causing Steven to scream inside of his mouth.
   Steven backs away slowly, making the gem shake her hands spastically.
"No, don't go! I believe I'm lost. And there's no one here but us, so how about a little help?" The gem asks.
   Steven nods but holds up his finger, as in saying to wait for a second. He begins to walk over towards the hill once again, picking up the bluish purple gem and leaving it in the palm of his hands. Steven walks back to the gem and grasps the gem in his left hand and holds out his opposite hand, asking for the gem to take his hand. The gem take his hand and he pushes himself out of the pocket dimension, bringing the gem out of Lions mane and into his living room.
   Lion looks back at Steven and the gem, his eyes wide in shock. Steven looks over at Pearl to see her covering her mouth as tears fall from her eyes, Garnets jaw is just clambered open, shock evident on both of their faces.
"Wow. A total stranger." Amethyst says, rolling her eyes.
   Garnet gets rid of her visors, her three eyes staring at the rainbow gem in disbelief. Her eyes watering with tears.
"Pearl...Garnet..." The gem begins, only to be cut off by Pearl.
"BISSS-MUUUTH!!!!" Pearl screeches, running into Bismuths arms.
"Ahahahaha! You're back!!" Pearl yells.
    Steven and Lion both look at Pearl and the new gem, confusion on their faces.
"Woah!" Bismuth yells as Bismuth picks up Pearl and tosses her lightly into the air, then catching her once more.
"Hehehehe! The Pearl I know never jumps into my arms! Hey, did somebody lose a Pearl? Who do you belong to?" Bismuth asks playfully, looking down at Pearl with a wide smile.
"Nobody!" Pearl yells happily, laughing along with Bismuth.
"Ha-HA!" Bismuth yells, laughing loudly.
"Alright, alright, settle down." Garnet says, walking over to Bismuth.
"Oh, you're one to talk, oh, oh, excuse me, you're two to talk." Bismuth says.
   This causes Garnet to scoff, and casually summons her gauntlet and punches Bismuth in the arm playfully.
"Hey, cool it, your Ruby is showing." Bismuth jokes.
   Amethyst shuffles over to Steven and looks down at his hands in shock.
"Uhhh, guys. We forgot someone." Amethyst says, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Huh? What do you-" Pearl begins, only to look down at what Amethyst is looking at, aka, the Holly Blue gem in Stevens hands.
"Garnet....."  Pearl begins, her hands cupping her mouth once again.
   Garnet looks over at Bismuth one last time before looking at what the rest of the gems are looking at.
"That was in there?" Garnet asks quickly, taking her visors off again.
"Yeah. Uh can you explain who this is?" Steven asks.
"Yeah I'd like to know that too." Bismuth says, crouching to look at the gem.
"I haven't seen her in so long...." Pearl whispers.
"I missed her so much...." Amethyst says, wiping away the tears that are falling down her face.
"I can't believe Rose had her all along in her Lion. I could've sworn I saw her with all the corrupted gems just a few days ago. Why did Rose hide her from us?" Garnet asks, looking down at Pearl and Amethyst.
"Uhhhh. Earth to gems, who is this?" Bismuth asks again, this time joking slightly.
"This was Y/N...." Pearl says slowly.
"Y/N? But that looks like a Holly Blue agate gem." Bismuth states, going to pick up the gem, only for Pearl to smack her hand away from the gem.
"Don't." Pearl says, sadness washing over her face as she picks up the gem from Stevens palms.
"I'm sorry Bismuth but you can't touch her. She was too special...." Pearl says, tears falling down her face.
   Pearl begins to sob as she hugs the gem, holding it close to her chest. Garnet puts her hand on Pearls shoulder, along with Amethyst who touches Pearls knee softly.
"Y/N was a human. She was special, had special powers, could read peoples minds. She was treated horribly at her home, her grandmother dying by cancer. Her grandmother was a gem, who could use warp pads and even went to Homeworld. Y/N's grandmother poofed Pearl and took her gem, making her into jewelry a bit after you went missing Bismuth. Pearl was gone for hundreds of years, as Rose and I wondered where she went off to. But Y/N found Pearl, and they formed a great relationship. Y/N loved Pearl with all her heart. But Y/N was human. Until White diamonds workers took us all from the beach and onto Whites ship. White knew Y/N liked Pearl and a Bismuth tortured Y/N into a gem, removing her belly button and replacing it with this old Holly Blue agate. She survived though through the torture and turned into a gem. She fought with us, laughed with us, even found Amethyst in the Kindergarten. Without her, we wouldn't have all been happy together. She was amazing, until one day she was poofed as we fought a corrupted gem. Rose thought it best that we bubbled her up so that the original Holly Blue that belonged to that gem wouldn't reform and make Y/N lose those memories if she ever reformed as herself. Y/N was close to us all, and we were all heartbroken when she was gone. It was difficult for us as time went on. Rose tried to be like Y/N in the way of cheering us up whenever we were sad, whenever we felt bad. Rose tried her best...." Garnet explained, looking Bismuth in the eyes as tears fell from all of their eyes.
   Bismuth and Steven just look at the three Crystal Gems that sob and cry by the memories of this fallen gem. But their sobs stop as the Holly Blue gem shakes and begins to light up. Pearl gasps along with Amethyst as Steven, Bismuth, and Garnet step back. The gem lowers itself onto the ground and soon a white body forms around the gem, the gem on the bodies belly button.
"Can it be?" Pearl gasps, covering her mouth with her hand.
"Is it her?" Amethyst asks.
    The body fully forms around the gem, the gem looking down at the past and new Crystal Gems.
"Y/N!" Pearl gasps, tears rolling down her pale cheeks.
    The gem doesn't reply, simply panting and breathing as they look at the ground as they're on their hands and knees, their purplish blue hair covering their face. This gem has white stiletto boots, slightly below her ankle and puffy blue pants that are tucked into the boots. Pearl steps forwards and puts her hand on the gems shoulder, wanting the gem to look up at her.
    The gem does look up, her e/c eyes looking into Pearls baby blue ones. Pearl smiles as she looks down at her lost love. Y/N L/N. Y/N's hair is grown a bit long, bangs now below her eyes. Y/N looks at Pearl with fear in her eyes and sweat on her face, only for her eyes to look around to spot everyone else in the room. When Y/N notices everyone else she stands and hugs Amethyst, amazed by how much she's grown and changed after the last time she saw the little purple skinned girl. Y/N notices the tears on Amethyst's eyes, wiping them away from the small gems eyes. Y/N then turns to Garnet, looking up at the three eyed gem who stares down at her in shock. This causes Y/N to chuckle lightly as she wipes away Garnets tears, just like she did to Amethyst. Y/N smiles and looks down at Steven and over at Bismuth, both of them being a similar height.
"Uhhhh.....hi. You two are new here." Y/N says, chuckling slightly as she wipes away her own tears that she didn't realize were falling down her face.
"You were in my Lion!" Steven blurts out to Bismuth and Y/N due to the awkward feeling he was getting.
"Your Lion?" Y/N asks, looking down at the 14 year old child.
"Yeah! My Lion, Lion. I think my mom must've put you two in there, I found you guys in bubbles and I accidentally popped the bubbles." Steven explains to Bismuth and Y/N, looking up at both of the gems.
    Y/N looks over at Bismuth, her eyebrows wrinkled.
"Who was your mother?" Y/N asks, just now realizing Rose is gone from this rogue group.
"And where's Rose?!" Bismuth yells, doing a full 360* to look around the wooden beach house.
"Uhhh....well hi." Steven says, doing a little wave at the two gems.
"But you're not Rose....what happened?" Y/N asks, crouching to look at the kid at a more reasonable level.
"She kinda turned into me... well, I have her gem, the rest is from my dad." Steven says, lifting up his shirt to for the gem to show Y/N and Bismuth.
    Bismuth crouches as well, looking down at the quartz gem, her eyebrows lifting in sadness.
"Ohh... There she is. You... do you know me?" Bismuth asks, her voice lowering in defeat.
"No, I'm so sorry." Steven says, looking up at Bismuth with sadness in his eyes.
"It's not always easy to understand Rose's choices... But we have to stand behind them." Pearl says, her fingers hovering over her mouth as she looks at the ground.
   Bismuth stands up along with Y/N and they stand there for a few seconds, taking everything in.
"Rose really is something else." Bismuth says, breaking the silence in the room.
   Steven looks up at her, not knowing what to say. Y/N sighs and walks out the beach house, thoughts and feelings coursing through her body.
•Y/N's pov:
'How long have I been gone for? Rose suddenly has a kid, a kid that looks to be 13 or 14. There's suddenly a house. And most of all, how the fuck am I back?!' I think to myself, walking down the porches steps and onto the sandy beach, flashbacks of how I got poofed bouncing around my brain. I remember the screaming and the pain and how the gems couldn't get to me in time. It feels just like yesterday, my blood all over the sand, my ribcage shattered by a drill.
   I hear footsteps behind me and a door opening and slamming against wood. I don't turn around though and just plop down on the ground, the same spot I died however many years ago. I watch the ocean sway, the waves crashing against the shore. Crabs scamper across the sand, going both in and out of water. I sigh as the footsteps get louder, knowing who it was gonna be.
"It's probably unlucky for you to sit there Y/N." Pearl says behind me, the sun casting a shadow over her and onto the sand in front of me.
"I don't care Pearl. It's not like you guys did anything to help me get back. Everything's new and different now. You guys are used to this life that you've been living for however long, not like I'm important anymore to you guys. Not like I matter anymore. So sue me if I die, I fucking welcome it." I say, rambling about how little I feel of myself based on how long I've gone.
    There's silence in the air, then footsteps. I think Pearls left me on the beach until she flops down next to me. She goes to grab my hand but I pull away, angry at her, the world, the Crystal Gems, and most importantly, at myself. I had been so weak and stupid, not listening to Garnets repetitive warnings. I didn't listen, which resulted in me getting poofed, resulted in me possibly never coming back.
"Y/N we tried. We really did." Pearl whispers, looking down at her feet.
"Everyone was devastated. But we had to keep pushing on. If we didn't, we wouldn't have been able to protect humanity. We fought the corrupted gems as best we could, but sometimes our sadness from your passing screwed that up. Me, Garnet, and even Amethyst repeatedly got poofed as we slowly gave up on ourselves. Rose never really showed her sadness though, but she was definitely more stand offish. She didn't lead as good as she once had, scared she'd lose another member. We had to move on, please believe me when I say that even though we did move on, we never forgot you. We could never. I could never." Pearl states, going to reach my hand once more but for the second time, I pull away.
I stand up and look down at her. Anger boiling up inside of me.
"Horse shit!" I yell, startling Pearl.
"I've been dead for years, over a fucking decade! What about Roses tears? What about her stupid fountain?! You could've done more, but no, instead of helping the person you supposedly loved for those few months, you decided to just let me be dead. You had free time! I know you guys did! You always had fucking free time! I just can't believe I believed that a gem could love someone like me, I can't believe you didn't even try! White was right, a human can't love a stupid gem." I yell, silently whispering the last few words out of sadness, reflecting back upon when I first met White.
I turn around and walk away, not hearing footsteps. Only hearing my heartbeat in my ears and the sound of the waves hitting the beach. I walk into the town and walk around, recollecting my thoughts. Walking around to cool off.
•Pearls pov:
As Y/N walked away from me I wanted to go after her, but I couldn't find myself to do so. She was completely right. None of us tried at all. We completely just forgot how important she was to us. We completely forgot about what we could've tried to do.
"She's right y'know." I hear Amethyst say, causing me to turn around to look at her.
"She was the only one who cared about me all the way back then. I owe her my life for saving me and being by my side all those times. What we did, how we just cast her aside as if she wasn't important after she was gone, was something that she never made me feel. She never made me feel unimportant. She was your lover P, your girlfriend. She trusted us. But we just let her down. We never returned the favor." Amethyst says, combing her fingers through her hair.
I look her in the eyes and feel the tears prick my eyes. Amethyst was completely right as well. 'God why am I so stupid?' I think, looking over to where Y/N walked off to.
"I need to go after her." I say, beginning to stand, only for Amethyst to raise her hands and look at me in alarm.
"No, no. I'll go get her. You just go refreshen up, maybe even surprise her or something. Not like you did with those rose petals though, we both know how bad that day ended up." Amethyst says, rolling her eyes as she speaks, remembering what Matt did to Y/N.
"I....okay. I'll go to my room. Will you bring her back to the house and bring her into my room?" I ask, looking at Amethyst with desperation in my eyes.
"You got it P. Lemme go get her!" Amethyst yells, running off and in the direction Y/N went off to.
I sit there for a few more minutes, collecting my thoughts until I head back to the house and up the stairs. I open the door to see Garnet sitting on the couch, Bismuth and Steven gone. I don't even question where they are, my head now dizzy with all my thoughts. I walk to the across the warp pad and in front of the door, opening it up with my gem. The door opens and I step inside, sliding down the door as it closes. I let out a sigh and close my eyes, letting my mind calm itself down. 'Amethyst and Y/N will be here shortly.'
•Y/N's pov:
I walk around Beach City, kicking tiny pebbles from time to time to lash out my anger. That is until I hear my name being yelled from somewhere in this city.
"Y/N!!!!" A voice yells, the voice echoing in this small town.
I continue to walk, somewhat thinking someone is looking for a different Y/N. I continue to walk until I hear fast footsteps behind me. I turn around but see no one. This begins to creep me out and I walk a bit faster, fearing what someone might do to me.
"Y/N!" A voice yells once more, but only this time the voice is closer and more high pitched, signifying that it's a girl.
The footsteps return but are only faster, this time I turn around again, only to be tackled to the ground. The color of purple and lavender clogs my eyesight, the bright colors right in front of me.
"Did you not hear me callin' your name or somethin'?" Amethyst asks, looking down at the horrified Y/N.
"Jesus Christ Amethyst! You scared the hell out of me. What do you want?" I ask, my heart beating a hundred miles an hour.
"I wanna talk to ya." Amethyst says, smiling slightly.
"About what?" I ask, looking at the happy gem.
"Well I want you to go talk to Pearl again. Don't be angry though! Even if we had tried to bring you back, you weren't there anyways. We think Rose took you from the other bubbles we had and put you in her lion. So if anything, blame Rose. Though I think she just wanted to keep you safe and away from being popped from your bubble." Amethyst says, getting up and off of me, only to stand and extend out a hand for me to grab.
"I dunno if I wanna talk to Pearl Amey. I just feel so bad. I feel useless and stupid for never listening to Garnet or Rose about how dangerous it was to be a Crystal Gem." I say, grabbing Amethysts hand so I can stand.
"Maybe talking to Pearl or even me for that matter can make you feel better. Me and P always loved you the most anyways." Amethyst says, slightly chuckling.
I laugh and nudge Amethyst with my elbow jokingly, basically hitting her in the face due to our height difference.
"Ow!" Amethyst yells, causing me to apologize over and over again, only making Amethyst crying from laughter.
"I'm just joking with ya Y/N. You're just like Pearl, you can't take a joke." Amethyst says, beginning to walk back to the beach house.
"Ha ha. Besides Steven and Rose being gone, what else have I missed? Like who's the rainbow chick?" I ask, looking down at the purple girl.
"Well I dunno about that rainbow chick, I've never met her before, I guess she was before our time anyways. Otherwise, a lot has changed. Remember that mirror you found?" Amethyst asks, looking up at me.
"Yeah. What about it?" I ask.
"Well P gave it to Steven and he took the gem out and healed her! Now she's at Stevens uncles barn with Peri." Amethyst says, lightly flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"Peri?" I ask.
"Oh, yeah. Peridot. She worked for Yellow but now basically lives in that barn. Peri and Lapis didn't quite get along at times, but they're like best friends now. It's nice. You'd like Peri, she's so weird, but like a cute weird. She's really loud though. Can you believe that's coming from me?" Amethyst jokes, laughing lightly.
We continue conversing, all the way to the beach house. When we walk in Steven and that Bismuth are gone, and Garnet and Pearl are nowhere to be seen.
"Strange." I say, looking around for the gems.
"Garnet and P must be in their rooms, lemme take you to Pearls room." Amethyst says, showing her gem to the door, causing it to open.
"Guess you got your door after all." I note, looking down at the gem.
"Yeah I guess so. It'd be cooler if yours was up here by all of ours though." Amethyst says, grabbing my hand.
I look around her room as she brings us towards a small pond. I look at the junk piles and somewhat smile, finding this room so not perfect it is perfect.
"What's with the junk piles?" I joke, elbowing Amethyst jokingly.
"Oh, yeah. Welcome to my room!" Amethyst yells, opening her arms out to point to the entire room.
"You still haven't explained the junk piles!" I say, laughing.
"Well to be honest Y/N, I didn't quite know what to do to this room at first. Until I remember you telling me something all the way back then." Amethyst says, causing me to tilt my head in confusion. Amethyst speaks once again. "You said 'Oh Amey, sometimes messes are amazing. I was a huge mess but now you see me now, messes make life, life. Don't let someone tear you down for being or having a mess, messes are awesome. Never forget that Amey.' Do you not remember that?" Amethyst asks.
"I didn't at first, but I remember now. I was eating that stupid spaghetti Pearl made me!" I say, laughing as I clutch my stomach.
"From what I remember it was pretty good!" Amethyst says, laughing as well.
   She walks us into the water and towards a waterfall. I look up only to see white light over us, I look back at Amethyst to see she's let go of my hand and is now a speed boat.
"Get in." Amethyst says, causing me to chuckle lightly.
    I get in Amethyst and chuckle as she chants 'chugga chugga' over and over again. She rides us up the waterfall. We gradually get higher and higher and I don't dare to look down. We ride up the waterfall until we're in a new room, water looking like a fountain with no drain or head. Instead the water floats in columns, creating a soft current that pushes down to Amethysts room. When we reach the tile land I spot Pearl sitting against the door, her head against her knees.
"Yo P!" Amethyst yells as I get out, returning to her normal form.
    Pearl raises her head and looks down at Amethyst and then up at me, her eyes widening.
"Y/N! You actually came? I thought you'd still be mad at me...."Pearl says, her eyes showing remorse and sorrow.
"Told ya I'd get her Pearl! Now, I shall leave you two alone." Amethyst says, cannonballing back through the water.
    I step towards Pearl only to stop as I hear a huge splash, signifying Amethyst made it back to her room. I chuckle and walk more, sitting right next to Pearl.
"I don't hate you Pearl." I say, looking at her cheek.
"You were right Y/N. We could've helped you. Instead we all did nothing. We just carried on with life. We had a lot of time too, especially after Rose got pregnant with Steven." Pearl whispers, causing me to shake my head.
"Amethyst brought up something I didn't think about before she said it. She was right when she said that even if you did try to help me, I wasn't where you guys thought I was.
