It's 1pm when Chris and I are driving to his place. According to the doctor Chris was as healthy as a fish again. They kept his vitals and heartbeat to a close eye and the results were back to normal very quickly. He doesn't need to take any medication anymore. Chris only needs to take it slow for a while.
"I hung a paper at the door, so everyone will see we're closed for a week. All the clients that had an appointment this week are resceduled." I inform Chris calmly. "Thanks babe you're the best. I'm so happy that I can count on you." He pats my arm gently. "You're my best friend and not to mention my boss. You know I would do anything for you." I assure him softly.
"That's what bothers me the most. I know you would move the earth to help me out. We need to forget about what happened to me. We need a fresh start again Okay? In a few weeks we can interview a new candidate for the practice so you and I'll have a little more time to breath at work Okay?" He frowns at me while waiting for my answer.
I lied to him. I can't forget about what happened to him. Yesterday I found out that a member of their agency will be celerbrating her birthday at a club. There's going to be a big chance Enrico will be there too. This is my chance to confront him. I'm going to record our conversation, and I hope he's going to confess.
I don't know what I'm going to do next with his confession though. If they are so dangerous and powerful, I need to be very careful. Chris can't know about my plans friday night. He would literally slap me in the face to give me my senses back.
"Rose?" Chris frowns at me for a moment. "Yeah, I'm listening." I reply him quickly, my eyes turning back on the road. "You were dreaming." He chuckles. "Am I that boring?" He laughs a little. "No silly. I was thinking about grandpa." I reply him with a small smile. "How is he?" Chris asked me.
"Good, good. If you don't mind, I'm going to visit him when you're settled down." I tell him. "Of course Rose. You don't need to baby-sit me. I'm healthy again so don't worry. You can visit me tommorow?" Chris questioned me. "Okay, but if you're feeling something not normal, you'll call me allright?"
"That's a deal." He winks at me. At 1.30pm we arrived at Chris his house. He's living ten minutes from my apartment. So when there's something wrong with him, I can be here in five minutes. I help him inside his house, carying his bag upstairs. I quickly install his wasmachine to wash his dirty clothes, and tidy up his kitchen.
"Rose you've done enough. Go to your grandfather. I'll see you tommorow." Chris ushers me out of his door. "I'll text you in a couple of hours." I tell him firmly, giving him a quick hug. He nods and waves me goodbye. I drive to grandpa with a small smile. He always gives me a better feeling when I'm feeling down.
After a fifteen minutes drive I arrive at the retirement home. I made my way up to the second floor where his room is. Entering his room, grandpa is sitting in his relax chair, watching out of his window to the visitors. "Rose, I'm happy to see you." Grandpa's eyes widen when he sees me, opening his arms widely to welcome me like he always does.
"Grandpa, I'm so sorry I wasn't here yesterday. Something happened with Chris." I explain him. Grandpa lets go of me and takes a close eye on me. "What happened?" He questioned me with a frown. "Chris got a heart attack when we were at a club. He had to stay in the hospital until a few hours ago. He's home now, and he's doing fine again." I explain him quickly. Hiding a part from the whole story, because he wouldn't laugh about me going to an erotic party full of escorts.
"Oh sweetheart, you must have been afraid when that happened?" He hugs me tightly. "Yes, I'm feeling exhausted about these past few days. It was horrific seeing him like that." I explain him, feeling a few tears streaming down my face. "Oh my sweet girl. You're so strong, let it all out. Everything is going to be fine again you'll see. Chris is a though one." He explained me.
I nod, brushing my tears away. "So when is he going to marry you? I don't have a lot of years to live Rosie." He whines. I start laughing at his out burst. After all those years he doesn't understand Chris his situation. "Grandpa, Chris is gay. He doesn't fancy women." I laugh at his confused expression. "Yeah, but I don't understand it. How can you fancy a man while being a man. Oh God we live in a strange world." He brushes a hand on his forehead.
"I know, it's a lot to take in." I smile warmly at him. He nods and walks back to his relax chair to lower himself into the chair. "Did you sleep well?" I question him while sitting on his bed. "No, it's that stupid lady from the other side that still is shouting in her sleep. Everytime she wakes me up." He explained me grumpily. "Did you talk with the nurse about it?" I ask him calmly.
He chakes his head. "You have a mouth to speak grandpa. You need to talk with the nurses about this. You know what, I'm going to talk with a nurse when I leave so you can get some rest." I tell him.
"Fine," he grumps at me, but not long when his expression softens again. "Rose it's almost dinner time, I need to leave in a few minutes. You know I'm never late." He smiles at me. "Okay, I'm hungry as well. I'll see you sunday grandpa." I inform him. I gave him a quick peck on his forehead before talking with a nurse about his sleeping problems.
After going to the food store, I arrived home. I made myself some spaghetti with meatballs. It was one of my favourite dishes. It's simple, but so deliscious. After I had cleaned my kitchen, I showered myself. When I was laying in bed, I called Chris. He was also laying in his bed, ready to sleep. We talked shortly and I fell asleep almost immidiatly past the phone call.
