Today after work we're going to interview Ishana Jones. She has just rounded her education with great results. She's my first choice, but Chris needs to choose eventually.
After a long day, I slide into Chris his office chair. "How are you feeling?" I question Chris. "A little tired, but nervous at the same time." He says nervously. "Why nervous?" I ask him with a frown. "Because I'm going to interview my potential co-worker. I know it sounds lame, but she or he needs to be perfect. I'm trusting my dearest clients with someone else." He sighed.
"Chris this is the best desicion you're going to make. I called Ishana yesterday and she sounded very clever and friendly. If this doesn't work out for you, we can look further until you find your perfect match." I assure him with a quick pat on his shoulder. The front door opens, and I stand up, making my way towards the door.
"Hello I'm Ishana. I'm here for the interview." She shakes my hand politely. "I'm Rose, its nice to finally meet you." I inform her while walking back to Chris his office. Ishana and Chris are shaking hands, when I lowered myself on a chair beside Ishana. I've a good feeling about this woman. A small smile appeared on my lips during the interview. Chris was asking her difficult medical questions, and as I predicted she answered them flawless.
After thirty minutes listening and talking with Ishana the interview was done. We said our goodbyes, and made sure we'll contact her very soon. "So? What do you think about Ishana?" I ask Chris, curiosity taking the upper hand.
"She's great. I'm very positive about her. She's smart, friendly and helpful. She has everything I want for a future collegue." Chris smiles. "I knew it. She's perfect for the job!" I squeel in delight. "I'm going to call her when I'm home. It will be so nice having more time to do other things. My social life has been nothing when I opened the practice." Chris complains at me.
I nod in understanding. "I forgot to tell you something Rose." His voice turning serious. "I saw that man in the hospital, when I came out of doctor Lombard his office." He informs me. I frown at his changing behaviour. "Who?" I question him quickly. "Jason,"
"Jason? Has he been threatening you again?" I question him quickly. "No, no, I think he didn't see me, but I think his dad died." He explained me quietly. My eyes widen for a moment. "Are you sure?" I ask him, confused about the information. "Yes, I heard the doctor loud and clear."
"Why are you reacting this way?" Chris questioned me with concern. "What?" I ask him. "You're whole posture changed? Have you seen him after he payed me a visit in the hospital?" Chris his expression turned in shock, because I kept silent for a moment, not knowing what to tell him.
"Rose, that man is dangerous." He explained me carefully. "I know that." I snap at him. "I don't want to interfere in your personal life Rose, but be careful that's all I'm asking from you." Chris smiles warmly, helping me closing the practice. Afterwards, I returned home with a sick feeling in my stomach.
The next day I'm helping Ishana in her office. She's so grateful for hiring her. She loved going to the movies, and she's also a great fan of pop music just like me. It's nice to talk to someone with the same age as mine. "What made you choose for medical school?" I question her curiously. "As a small child I was always playing doctor. I ran after my brother trying to take his pulse. When dad was home I did the same. It was like I was born to become a doctor." Ishana informs me with a small smile.
"Wow, your parents must be so proud of you." I gushed. "Yes, they are." She smiles warmly. "How long do you and Chris work together?" She questioned me carefully. "About a year now, but it seems longer." I smile to her. "You're going to like him very quickly. Everyone likes Chris, because he can be very funny." I giggle. "Yes, he looks like a great person." She flashes her teeth.
"Girls, is it gossip hour?" Chris pokes his head inside the room. "Always," I laugh at his interference. "I was informing Ishana about her new boss." I explain him with a wide grin. "Is that so?" He smiles warmly, turning his gaze to Ishana. "Rose was only telling me good things, so you don't have to worry about anything." Ishana smiles at Chris.
Chris nods with a big smile. "Okay girls, my next client will arrive in a few minutes. Maybe I can buy you two dinner tonight after work, so we can get to know each other a little better." Chris eyes us closely. "That would be great Chris." Ishana answers quickly. "I'll be there." I respond after Ishana.
When we locked the office the three of us made our way to a small restaurant called "Tom's place". "Chris I think you know every restaurant in Californië." I giggle. "Of course, you know my favorite thing to do is eating." He chuckles. "I love food as well. The more exotic, the more I love it." Ishana informs us with a bright smile. "Me too!" Chris gushed. "That's another thing you guys have in common." I laugh a little.
After several minutes we were seated in the restaurant. I ordered shicken with fries. Ishana and Chris ordered something Italian I didn't know the name of. We talked and laughed with each other, getting to know one another a little better. Ishana was more silent in the beginning, but afterwards she became looser. She talked about her current boyfriend, who also cheated on her like Eric did to me. I felt more and more connected with Ishana. Chris enjoyed our company to the fullest. Now, he's got two friends to gossip with. He sits there grinning from ear to ear like he's taking out two women on a date. It's so funny how quickly your life can change because of other people.
My mind trails of to Jason. I couldn't stop thinking about what Chris had told me. His dad died unfortunately. Jason must be heartbroken right now. I hope his stupid brother will help him to get through this awful period. Chris cleared his throat, frowning at me. "I was just thinking about something." I explain him quickly.
"Okay," he answers me with a worried expression. "I'm gonna go home now it's almost nine o'clock and I need to shower myself before going to bed." I explain them. "Yes, me too. I need to be ready for my first day." Ishana spoke with enthusiasm. "Okay, I'm going to pay the bill, and then my ladies can go to bed." Chris says cheerful.
Everyone had driven with there own car, so we said our goodbyes and walked to our own car. Arriving at the parking lot, I noticed a familiar voice. "You need to find him as soon as possible!" The voice spoke harshly. I swallow hard and almost ran to my car, until he recognized me from afar.
"Rose?"
