The next day came and I did the usual. Take care of Koda, feed him, play with him, hung out with the pack minus Seth and Kwoli. Once everyone left around 3, I decided to start getting ready. I went upstairs and took a shower. When I was finished, I put on some comfy clothes and called Emily upstairs. She helped me do my hair. It took about an hour to curl my hair, it being long and all. But once we were done, Emily looked at me, and got my dress. She set it down on the bed, with my shoes, and walked out. I slipped on the dress and the heels. Ugh, how do girls wear these all the time? I know I’m a girl and all, but come on. Who can wear heels all the freaking time? Does it not bother your heels or your calves? The more I started to complain about my shoes, I looked at the clock and saw it was 5. I walked to the mirror and just looked at myself. Looking at myself in the mirror made me think, you’re not a little girl anymore Kaya. You are a young woman trying to survive your life. I walked back to the stand and put on my necklace. I picked up my phone and saw the time, 5:16. The closer time got, the more nervous I got. I don’t even know why, this is just a pity date. You chose not to be Seth’s girlfriend. You chose to be in this position. It’s just a play date, nothing more. But it’s the first ‘date’ you had in awhile with Seth. I sat there, waiting for people to arrive downstairs. Soon, I heard chatter coming from downstairs. Someone yelled,
Sam: KAYA! YOUR PRINCE IS WAITING FOR YOU.
I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath. I stood up and opened the door. I walked down the hall, and down the stairs. Everyone but Seth was looking at me. Seth’s back was facing towards the stairs. I looked at my girls wearing these. (link)

They all smiled at me, and Seth finally turned around wearing. My eyes softened when I saw him wearing that.

You don’t know how cute he looked in that. A big grin went from ear to ear when he saw me. His face lightened up when he looked into my eyes. Koda ran to me and I picked him up,
Koda: you look beautiful momma.
Me: thank you baby.
Seth: I agree. You look beautiful. Ready?
I nodded and walked towards the girls.
Me: where’s your date Leah?
Leah: meeting him there. You look hot Kaya.
Me: ha, you look hot too. All you ladies look hot tonight actually.
All the guys: ditto.
We all walked out the house and headed towards the school.
Me: hey Kole, how are you even going? You’re way over age!
Kole: I’m an adult supervision.
Me: What about your date Kwoli?
Kwoli: i'm meeting her there
