Chapter 21

Blur

How many times do I have to remind myself? Hindi pwede, Sammy. Hindi maaari. You're still young, alright? You don't have to fit yourself into that kind of palace.. it is grand for you to touch. It's almost unreachable by the tip of your fingers.

We still end up thinking about the person out of our league. In reality, we can't easily force ourselves not to hope for chances.

Limitations and boundaries..my thoughts at seventeen.

A Figueroa, heir of a famous and influential family in our province.

A place that reminds me of you, a football field. A thing that makes every part of you, football. And I missed you a lot.

He's just a friend, parting ways won't hurt you, Samaria. But I spent years with him, childhood to adolescence. His space in my heart can't be filled by anyone else.

We value things and memories when the one who gave them became a memory too.

Indeed, in making a story, a beautiful love story, you must know how it feels to love and to be loved. Fill every chapter with a memory the subject would forever carry until the very last page of the book. Whatever the ending is, the story would remain as a masterpiece because it is filled with memories and the one who made them unforgettable.

Just like how we capture pictures, it isn't about how good the quality is. It is about the subject and how significant it is to the one who photographed it.

Friday of the school week, I decided not to visit Archi anymore. I can't fit myself to the place where he is in. And so, the place that would remind me of him filled the longing. School's football field, under the tree, watching the sun as it sets the memories free.

Time passed by as if its sun rays. Before, I dreamt of having a palace.. a mansion. But not all palaces have gold in them.

Somehow, a golden wealth can be found hidden in a moving old century clock. In the seas of ocean waves, somehow lies in a rusty place. No matter where it is in, it depends on the hands holding it and the eyes who have seen its value.

Dressed as royals served by master chefs but life isn't easy. Anyone wearing a crown went through stones before they got their own thrones.

That's what you get when you miss your best friend so much. You'd start to reminisce about moments and get second thoughts about them.

I wished Archi would at least message me, to ease my worry. I can get myself contented with that.

I contacted him through social media. I waited for his reply while I was at his favourite place.

I texted him also.

I could feel my knees trembling in fear.
