VIOLA FOLLOWED HER father down a lantern-lit trail that was filled with the hustle and bustle of all of the other wizards and witches also beginning their trek to the stadium.

After finally arriving outside the arena, a ministry wizard checked their tickets. "Upstairs," he informed them. "Ten sets of stairs and first turn to your left."

They set off up the many stairs, Viola's legs soon beginning to ache, wondering how many there were left to go after what was prpbably the fifth set. Finally they had seemingly reached the top, Bartholomew beginning down the small corridor, before his name was called out from somewhere behind them.

Both father and daughter turned around, Viola not recognising the voice, but eyes widening when she saw who it was: Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic. An important-looking man was standing behind him, though Viola didn't recognise him. Bartholomew immediately started forward to shake Cornelius's hand and they muttered a few words that Viola couldn't hear over the voices of those around them. Then, Bartholomew faced her.

"My daughter," he told Fudge, gesturing at her and sending her a sharp look that Fudge couldn't see. She stepped forwards, incredibly nervous and held out her own hand, wondering too late if it was too sweaty- Fudge had already shaken it.

"Viola, Minister, it's a pleasure to meet you." Was she supposed to call him Minister? Or was Mr. Fudge more appropriate?

He chuckled lightly. "Yes, you too, Miss Jugson. As I was just saying to your father, I think you two would be better suited in the Top Box. There's two extra seats to my knowledge and I daresay you deserve an upgrade." He winked at her and Viola smiled back uneasily. Why did they deserve a seat in the Top Box?

He introduced the other man as Oblansk, the Bulgarian Minister of Magic as Viola tried to keep her excitement inside-as strange as it was that they were getting a last-minute seat upgrade, their new seats were some of the best in the whole arena. She wasn't going to decline such a convenient offer.

She thanked Fudge as she and her father followed him to the Top Box. As soon as Viola realised it would mean climbing even more stairs, her excitement lessened and she felt like telling Fudge that the other seats would be fine, but of course saying something like that to the Minister wouldn't be appropriate. Not to mention that her father would also lock her up for the rest of her life for embarrassing him in front of someone so important.

The box was already full when they entered. The first person she noticed was a redheaded boy-she recognised him as one of Ron Weasley's brothers, but couldn't recall his name. Upon noticing the Minister, he bowed so low that his glasses fell to the ground and shattered. Viola coughed to try and hide her snort as he picked them off the ground and repaired them with his wand.
