FORBIDDEN

Ch 79

We were on our way all of us headed home. I couldn't wait it had been a long time since I felt the sun on my skin and face. it has been seven months now since I was pulled from that portal losing my mates for a moment in time only to be mated to a new. Thinking that my fate had been sealed that I would never make it out again or see my beloveds again. 

Thankfully that wasn't the case! yes, there was still a still in the air that was unsettling but if we kept together we would make it the few hours and many miles over the mountains and hills back to Nicolae's castle hidden protected by a love spell keeping us from prying eyes. 

I know Victor had reserves regarding our move back, after all this was his kingdom and what lord would even give up his power.  He was a lord vampire and one that never kneeled down, my beloveds were his creation so in some way, I had both the father and his son's at my side. Gross in human terms. but we were no longer human, not really. 

I in fact hadn't been human since I was born learning that I was in fact half-vampire and witch. 

My children now all of them both part witch, vampire, and even shifter. What a mix of fates. 

I had heard the castle chatter about leaving and what was to be expected. Victor was lowering his standards to follow me or so many thought. others felt it was a change much needed for us all. and some didn't feel anything either way. 

what would we expect when we arrived one would wonder over the next long hours. I rest in the caravan with the children hidden as the nurse to be safe as the nurse acted like me on my horse near the front.  River had picked her because in the years she worked for her she was the only one to be trusted with such a task. 

We packed up earlier in the morning and were ready to go within a few hours. Vampires were really amazing at moving. I chuckled there wasn't much we took but Victor had a few select items he would part with and most almost fit on one trunk or two. 

for me, I had nothing here other than a few things I came with and the gifts that Victor gave me. two of which far too large to take, leaving them as art in the grand hall when we returned for a winter reprieve. 

the others were tucked away safely mixed in with all my garments. 

The children were quite the past few hours into this trip which I smiled loving, as they rested I found myself resting too. I knew that Drogo was driving the wagon on so I knew nothing would happen if I slept. 

Slept I did from time to time until I needed to feed these kids. We had been deep within the mountains passes now before we finally stopped to rest. 

Darkness had fallen already making it so dark in the frost tonight as the guards and mates made sure there was nothing or anyone following us or tracking us. So far, no one was.

I waited till the nurse would come to check on me before I was allowed to leave for a moment to stretch my legs. keeping the idea of me being on the horse a secret. 

my men deligated some ideas on to keep watch over the night as I quickly conjured a fire for everyone to warm up with, Rivers training in the past few months had come in handy I now had far more power than I ever had before, all for good of course. 

the fire had caught the eyes of my lovers coming to rest near it as I created a few more for the guards and castle servants and living guests who were traveling with us. River wasn't a witch who could conger fire, even though she could build one, as a white witch they're many things she wasn't allowed to tinker within the off chance she turned dark.  which I guess made sense. 

I for one didn't care at this point it was still winter where our camp was set up and we were only sitting down for a few moments before continuing on. Freezing although wasn't going to be an option.
