Stranded in the middle of nowhere the group I was traveling with has disbursed leaving only a few of use in close proximity, well except for me I perfer to travel alone. I know traveling in number could save your life but every time I'm in a group we get hunted and all but I survive or so it seem, I don't stick around long enough to find out.

Tonight seems different, something in the air I can feel it. like its closing in whatever it is and I don't like it.

I've been alone for so long, surviving alone, hiding when needed. being in a group keeps you exposed you can't blend in.

I head out early this morning to hunt for breakfast, feeling a cool breeze rush by time to time.

I shudder to think it was a vampire playing with me, "there food"

or a werewolf! but, I had doubted it considering they would have attacked me by now taking me or killing me. So, I progressed acting as if I hadn't noticed anything different about the day.

This evening seems to be falling faster then I remember in this part of the region, a part I haven't fully traveled to well.  This north the air was colder, chilled me to the bone faster than any other winters I had to know. I grew colder by the second wanting to make camp and find a safe place soon,  continuing to walking I looked for a cave or an old abandoned place once I could retreat and camp for the night.

It seemed Like I was walking for hours the forest was thick so think I couldn't really see past the next tree, losing my self in thoughts as I continued keeping my mind off the bitter cold.

coming to a clearing something felt off, so damn off!  I didn't know what so I got down to the ground placing my left-hand down feeling the earth for what was coming. At first, there was nothing, nothing to tell me what it was but I soon knew it would be upon me.  staying low allowing the cloak I wore to keep the heat in around me I felt no need to get up and run. I was able to fight able to hold my own.

suddenly, feeling like a gust of wind blow by me so fast so quick, I knew this wasn't a cold wind, this was a fast-moving monster.  what I didn't know is that it was more than one.

I look up from the cloak ever so slightly noticing that the darkness isn't exactly dark it has been getting foggy, the clouds so low they covered the trees hiding almost all the forest. And then there in the tree line, I see them, their red eyes look at me,

hearing leave crunch under there steps, branches cracking from there weight, feeling the wind from each of there moments against me, smelling them Vanilla, Sage, sandalwood and a hint of something I haven't smelled in a long time, cinnamon!

I needed to act as though I hadn't seen them, I was alone and fighting off 2 or more wouldn't be easy, but I have fought off more than that and lived thus far. But that sweet smell so different and sweet I found my self distracted.

completely take back,  I didn't feel the hand touch me as one stood beside me. He came up so fast I had no time to pull out my blade hiding from under my cloak.
