Chapter Sixteen

"So the rules are: no hitting people with sticks, no running off, you have to wait in the car until i tell you to come out, um that's it see not much." i was nodding along as if i was listening when in reality i was planning on exploring where ever we were going the second this car stopped.

"Az? What where the rules?" Kai questioned and i bit the inside of my cheek. Shit if i new he was going to ask i would have listened. Humour save me please.

"Oh you poor dear, have you lost your memory?" I cooed pouting and he shuck his head with a tut but he didn't ask again to my relief. He pulled up to the side of some forest and i was now one hundred percent sure this is where i end. He lifted up a finger telling me to wait as he stepped out the car, locking it. Perfect! Fanfuckingtastic! Gone from hot house to hot car. 

Kai had been gone for five minutes and the voices where telling me to hop out of the window, the voices being my own thoughts but i wanted to be cool like Harley Quinn so ill pretend. Prying the window down as far as it would go i squeezed through huffing at the effort until i connected to the floor with a thud. I took a minute to gather myself as i sat up to find a very unimpressed Kai.

"Oh thank god i was just coming to find you, i thought a bear ate you or something." I smiled standing up and dusting myself off.

"You where trying to escape." He deadpanned and i feigned innocence bringing my hand to my chest in hurt.

"I was not." He grabbed my arm rolling his eyes before tugging me into the forest, i was getting flash backs of that one time Klaus did that sacrifice and bonnie had to stop him. I was at the side-lines because that bitch Greta told him my siphoning powers would be the biggest threat to him now that Bon bon was "dead". He could have killed me but Klaus and me where buddies and-

Hands covered my eyes and i couldn't help but stop in my tracks, this was a bit much. I cant even see my grave now? Is it to much for a girl to ask. With a nudge i huffed and continued reluctantly until my feet hit wood? Decking? Kai's hands lifted and i was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a six foot deep hole. It was a lake! Their was a little dock reaching out into the waters and a blanket set up with lots of food.

Kai walked past me smiling to himself as i took it all in. Their was a range of drinks in a cooler and two towels set a side along with our spare clothes, my jaw dropped before i let out a squeal turning to kai who was now in trunks. Is this the first time I've seen him shirtless? I have been deprived. Honestly i didn't know which view was better, kai? Or the dinner and lake? 

"Az?" I gaped like a fish out of water not knowing what to say, so i settled with a hum in response. He gestured to the water. 

"The water will cool you down." he stated and i nodded not needing to be told twice as i ripped my shirt and shorts off, not literally Jesus I'm not an animal, in the streets at least. In the sheets its a different story. Kai went running off the dock jumping into the water and i squealed excitedly before repeating the action.

When i emerged from the water i flipped my curly wet hair out of my face laughing heartily. I loved this! I didn't love the fact that i couldn't find kai. Could he swim? Is he messing with me? SOMETHING TOUCHED MY FOOT! WAS IT A FISH?! I hate fish. Wait there are no animals here. My conclusion came to late as i was hoisted from the water and thrown under again.

This time when i came up kai was chuckling to himself making me contagiously laugh as well. It was a struggle to stay up in the fit i was in but luckily kai swam over laughing to himself as he swam along side me.

"I like your laugh." He smiled looking into my eyes and i smiled back. This was nice, he was nice.

"This is nice." I'm sure i looked like a fool with the massive grin on my face but i wasn't really bothered in this moment it was perfect. My arms slid around Kai's neck as we looked at each other, he was smiling brightly to. Right now we weren't in a prison world we were just two people swimming in a lake. Kinda like a date. A DATE. Oooh i hadn't had one of those in a while.

Kai was still looking at me intently and i found my self blushing at the attention.

"Your so beautiful." Beautiful, not hot. That's different and i really like it, i loved it. I bit my lip to contain the grin that wanted to burst onto my face. I don't know if it was the motion of the water or us but me and kai were getting closer. And then for the second time we were kissing, not as hungry or driven as the last but brilliant anyway.

Our lips moved in sync and i easily wrapped my legs around kai's waist smiling into the kiss. I tilted my head and he easily caught on deepening it as he moved his hands tighter around my waist. All the flirting and teasing was forgotten in this kiss, it was just pure passion and enjoyment feeling his hands on my body and mine idly drawing patterns on his shoulder blades as he moved us to the shore. 

With kai i didn't just get moments of happiness i got hours on end of fun and happiness, being reckless with no consequences no negative feedback no judgement. He didn't ask me to be anything but me. And in return he was Kai, in the present kai not the past that every one seemed to see when they saw him. All i saw was him, and he was here.
