Chapter Twenty-Two

"You cant just cut me off Azzy." Kai gritted out and i rolled my eyes, there was no need to make this hard.

"I can and i will because its what's best." I was getting annoyed as well now, he mirrored my expression.

"How do you even know that?" He challenged pointing his fork at me to which i responded with a glare.

"I'm the one here with emotions, I'm just trying to make sure i don't get hurt in the end." He smirked sitting back in his chair with the smuggest expression i just wanted to slap it off.

"Your the one with emotions who so far has allowed them to get hurt maybe this is what you need." Okay so maybe i didn't have the best judgement when it came to my feelings but did he have any better hell no the fucker didn't have any.

"What? What do i need? You?" I incredulously spoke crossing my arms and he nodded making my jaw drop and scoff.

"Think about it, i can give you someone to rely on, to trust. I've taken care of you in here haven't i?" I opened my mouth to reply with the fact he's the reason I'm still here but i was over that because i would have done it to. Then he continued.

"When i get out of here, ill complete my merge and become the all powerful leader of the Gemini coven, i could protect you." i narrowed my eyes at him childishly, i didn't need any of that.

"Why would you even care, i bring no advantage to your life." I deadpanned leaning back in my chair as he became serious.

"I see myself in you, its all i ever wanted, some where to belong, to be excepted. I saw how wrongly i was treated but you still don't." I had a flat expression, its the life of a siphoner we get the bad cards. We deal with it in our own ways.

"No, unlike you i have people who care about me I'm not dropping that because I've been wronged." I stood placing my dish in the sink.

"There you go again relying on the wrong people." he tutted giving up like that, at the moment i didn't question it thinking he had enough.

"Next order of business." He joked placing his dish in the sink as well before drying the one is had washed.

"The magical source. I've been thinking for quite a while about it. Before i got stranded here my little sis had somehow managed to avoid the merge, ridding herself of her witchy woo and it got me thinking. How does one get rid of their magic?" He continued rambling as he placed the pots away on the higher shelves as i did the lower ones.

"She must have put it some where and on such notice? It could have gotten far, and then i was like how can we sniff out a magical source? " He rounded the kitchen before leaning on the counter top and looking at me.

"That's when i remembered your little trick with the ascendant back at the boarding house. How did you find it without chanting or even any spell?" My eyes widened for a second catching to what he was getting at.

"Were magic suckers its just my instinct to find magic i guess, but before you get any idea's i need a taste of magic to get me wanting more." He nodded scratching the back of his head.

"What about vampire blood?" I nodded with a raised eyebrow not knowing where he was going with this. Its not like we had a spare vampire laying around.

"I may have stabbed Damon with a few of my arrows. Said arrows being in the back of my car." Without another word we were out the door hoping whatever magic in the vampire blood was salvageable, just enough to get me going.

Popping open the trunk we found some arrows below the grimoires we hadn't brought in yet, holding my breath kai passed me one and i nearly moaned at the contact of the magic hitting my skin, i squealed excitedly pulling kai into a hug and jumping up and down. He wrapped his arms around my torso chuckling before i pulled back letting the magic slip into my veins.

Letting my hand drift out i let in a breath before exhaling, it seemed so close. Like right under our noses close. Walking steadily feeling the pull get stronger with kai following we ended up at... a tree stump. Huh. Alright. I lent over the outside rifling through leaves until i came across something sharp and buzzing with magic. Pulling it out i came into contact with a hunters knife?

"Look familiar?" I asked passing it over to to him and he bit his lip excitedly.

"This is it, we are going home." I smiled brightly as the words left his mouth and he turned to me mirroring the action.

"Looks like you'll get to see my awesome piloting skills after all." That made my face drop, hell no.

"To get out of here i have to be alive Kai, no way." He huffed as we walked back to the house before gesturing to me with the knife.

"You made it last time, i can drug you again if you want?" I shuck my head hastily pushing the knife out of my personal bubble.

"Can't we drive there instead?" I argued childishly and he huffed a laugh.

"And stay in this world longer then we have to? No." He rose his hand to knock me out magically i assumed but the little fucker forgot i had a bit of magic of my own.

"Motus!" Kai went flying into the living room groaning as he stood up with a pout dusting himself down.

"What was that for!?" He huffed angrily across the room.

"You were going to knock me out!" I defended and he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah i still am, you just wasted your last bit of magic." My eyes widened and i pointed at kai warningly but he was already chanting.

"Nighty night babe."
