Dyad // Kai Parker

Chapter Forty-Four

That week had flown by and now i was panicking. Honestly a lot could go wrong like we could die on the way there or crash into a lorry filled with logs staking all the vampires in the car. Or kai could become a sociopath again and decide he didn't love me anymore, or this could be a giant set-

"Hey babe you forgot your phone." Kai pulled me out of my thoughts as he passed the phone through my window, i nodded with a smile taking it from him as he placed a kiss on my head. Care and bonnie along with Stefan where in the car with us to Portland which i had momentarily forgotten until the girls squealed at kai's "adorableness".

"You two are literally goals." Bonnie cooed and i rolled my eyes with a smile before turning back to them and fake swooning.

"You know, are first car ride together he cuffed me and tied me up with the seatbelt.... So romantic." I cooed as they fell into silence making me chuckle darkly.

"I wouldn't have tied you up if you didn't thrash around." Kai defended starting the car.

"I wouldn't have tried to escape if you didn't drug me." I argued back smirking as he didn't know how to reply.

"And yet your still together, love like that never dies." Caroline claimed and i chuckled, i swear that girl was all rainbows and sunshine. 

I was having a thumb war with Stefan through the little gap between the front seats with my tongue sticking out for concentration. I lost which was totally unfair leaving me to pout in disappointment for the next twenty minutes. Care and i started playing candy crush as bonnie sang with kai, secretly we weren't playing candy crush but recording them.

Then like five hours in Stefan fell asleep, leaving me obligated to shove the straws from our milkshakes up his nose and take pictures. He woke as soon as the camera flashed making me and bon glare at Caroline who had left it on. Another two hours and i couldn't cope. i demanded for kai to pull over so someone else could drive whilst we slept in the back.

I was in the middle lent up on kai snuggling into him as my feet rested on bonnie who knocked them off every five minutes until she realised i wasn't giving up. We must have slept for at least five hours because when i woke we were in Portland and i desperately needed a wee.

"Steffie drive faster!" I demanded sulking in the back.

"I told you not to have those milkshakes." Kai tutted as i scowled at him. 

"It's a twelve hour ride did you really think we'd be able to hold it that long?" Bonnie asked in the same state as me, snapping in frustration.

"If you don't get us there in five minutes tops your gonna have two angry bennet's on your ass." Care told Stefan who sighed.

"Uh were here, you can go to the toilet now." Me and Bonnie literally ran out of the car rushing to the wash room not even having time to admire the beautiful cabin kai had allowed them to stay in. Once we were done we met everyone back in the living room which was huge.

"Okay so unpack and we will meet you guys later for dinner." Kai smiled wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Can't we stay here for a little bit?" I pouted and he laughed placing a quick kiss to my lips.

"Trust me your not gonna remember this place when we get to our new apartment." He led me out of the door as i furrowed my eyebrows. Was it that nice or was there something else he's not telling me about? He saw my confused look and reluctance to leave so he continued.

"I got you a surprise now come on babe." We were out of the door now headed to the car, i turned to him with a stern look.

"If it's a sex swing or something i wanna stay here." He laughed but shuck his head

"But if you want we can get one." He offered and i chuckled fastening my seat belt. It took us another thirty minutes to get to our apartment complex and i didn't expect what i saw. They were not like apartments, it was more like suites. You got the whole level. Kitchen, bathroom, walk in shower, dining room and kitchen. Then a master bedroom with a walk in wardrobe which kai said i wasn't allowed to see until i looked around the rest of the place.

Maybe he had brought me new clothes?

After inspecting the whole place and being taught how all the posh showers and baths worked he finally lead me to the wardrobe. He placed a cloth over my eyes and i got seriously suspicious, i swear if it was a red room in there i was going to kick his ass and i mean full Jacki Chan on his-

Something licked me, i felt it. Did he just lick me!

The cloth was removed from my face and i came face to face with the cutest thing i had ever seen, a chunky little black fudge nugget with brown blobs all over him, he had the cutest little eyebrows and i found it hard not to scream as kai passed him to me.

I couldn't believe me eyes as i looked between the two, the little puppy in my arms yawned and i bit my lip nearly dying from the cuteness honestly. Kai was grinning as i refused to believe what was in front of me.

"Is he ours?" I asked in disbelief as kai stroked the top of the dogs head.

"Gumbo, our little baby." I jumped up and down a little unable to contain the happiness i was feeling as i kissed kai all over his face along with the gumbo licking him as well.

"He's not sleeping on the bed." Kai demanded and i shared a look with the dog.

"Of course your sleeping on the bed, right next to mummy and daddy." I cooed in a baby voice nuzzling the sweet little thing.
