Chapter Thirty-Seven

No fucking way, he must have glamoured it or something, i bet it was actually a pickle, kai handed the ice cream to me and i felt absolutely no magic running through it. Impossible. He entered his side of the car as i glared at the sugary goodness in front of me, i glanced to him as i heard his seat belt click he was smirking smiling victoriously and i couldn't hold back the urge.

So i stuck it to his head like a unicorn, making me burst into a fit of laughter.

Kai was clearly shocked for a second before collecting the treat from his face and wiping it down mine. I immediately reacted wiping what i could off and glaring at him as he laughed. I couldn't help the small tugging at the corner of my lips hearing the pure melodic laughter he was emitting not even caring about the last bits of ice cream dripping down his face. 

I hooked my thumb over a bit that was dripping down his face and brought it to my lips smirking as his laughter ceased. 

"That's not fair." He pouted and i fluttered my eye lashes innocently.

"What?" I breathed out as he gave me a - i know what your doing - stare.

"Your teasing me, and it's working." I shuck my head smiling as he grinned back. Leaning over the console i brought my hand up and ran my thumb over his lips, before connecting mine to his. it was short and sweet, creating butterflies in my stomach as his hand reached around my neck and deepened it. Once he pulled away he began to chuckle.

"You taste like ice cream." Kai stated and i started laughing as well as he pulled out of the parking lot and continued our course to New Orleans's.

"And who's fault is that?" I asked raising a brow at him as i gestured to my ice cream covered face.

"Technically babe, its yours since you attacked me first." I shrugged wiping whatever was left on my face off sending him a playful glare. 

"You didn't have to retaliate." I responded smugly as he still had ice cream on him.

"Oh but i did." I laughed with a shake of the head as i brought the napkin up to his head and wiped the remains off it. He hummed a thanks gesturing to the food in the back.

After a very long car journey we finally arrived in the quarter, i was briskly taken by the lights and music that surrounded me when we got here. Begging Kai to let us park a bit away from the compound so we could walk through the streets. After a while he caved finding us now walking hand and hand down the crowded streets.

Jazz echoed through my ears as i looked at the street dancers and performers. I nearly hopped out of my skin when a man dressed in skull and bones and standing tall on stilts stepped out from the side lines.

"Hello pretty lady! Mr! What brings you to the quarter?" I beamed up at him as he stretched a hand out ot me which i took letting go of kai as the new man twirled me around his lanky frame.

"Business but also a little fun." I responded giggling as the performer beamed at me.

"We're lucky to have you étoile rayonnante!" He spoke making me smile brighter, he had called me a beaming star as he placed a kiss to my knuckles.

"Merci homme mystère" I thanked the mystery man and he grinned turning to kai who was watching me with a smile.

"You are a very lucky man indeed, enjoy your stay!" We waved him off as he stalked down the streets dancing. I pulled kai into the centre of the square where people where twirling with there partners. Begrudgingly he danced along with me wrapping his arm around my waist before dipping me down, causing the eruption of giggles to bloom from my chest.

"Your gorgeous Azzy." Kai breathed out and i grinned connected out lips again smiling into it and suddenly we weren't in the bustling centre of a group dance, no we were back in the prison world, just the two of us together. Pulling away was like pressing play on a movie as the noise burst to life again and we moved.

Eventually we ended up at the compound covered head to toe in gifts and love. I wore a fluorescent flower crown and the biggest smile i could possibly wear, it hurt my cheeks but didn't deter me. I walked right on in pulling kai with me who turned serious, positioning his arm around my waist and rubbing soothing circles on my stomach, more for him then me.

"Mikaelsons! front and centre!" I yelled out into the house and not a second later was i engulfed by a blonde bombshell.

"Thank god your here, i was about to decapitate my brother." Rebekah squeezed me to death and i gripped her back.

"Now, now little sister she's my guest." Klaus entered the room smiling at me as we pulled each other into a hug.

"Oh be quiet Nik, she like me more-" Rebekah paused turning to Kai.

"And who's this?" She asked as kai did that cute little villain wave, did i just say cute? Fuck my life.

"Kai Parker leader of the Gemini nice to meet you." He smiled at her and she grinned back.

"I'm sure it is, how did you two meet?" She immediately resorted to big sister mode as Klaus whispered something along the lines of....boyfriend....asshole....cheeky little....

"We met in prison." I smirked and she scoffed.

"Of course you did, always attracting the mad ones, this one." I held a hand to my heart and shuck my head.

"I don't for one, and two shush, you dated mat." She rolled her eyes before smiling at me.

"Now if you would fill me in on the situation before we find a hotel i would appreciate it." I smiled and Klaus hummed.

"Just and old friend with a pesky little hex, where running out of options love." I nodded as the cutest little bundle of fire walked into the room.
