Chapter Forty-Five

I had all but refused to leave our child at home whilst we went to dinner, he was already spoilt having shiny collars and leashes in our apartment. I planned on getting many more. He was sat on my lap in the car as kai pouted because he lost our little argument. The puppy cant come, he refused immediately as i placed his collar on before we left. No kai the baby can come. And it sure as hell did.

Walking up to the restaurant with style me and gumbo looked dapper, i wore a black maxi dress with golden details to match his fur coat, kai wore a black suit and shirt with a golden tie. We had linked arms as we entered after i called Care down to compel who ever said my baby couldn't come inside. Once we reached the table it was like we were celebrities, by we i mean gumbo.

Whilst everyone was acquainting themselves with my child i turned to kai who was surely feeling a little left out. I wrapped my arms around his chest smiling up at him. He connected our lips which i happily returned with lots of passion and joy. His hand rested on my waist as my arms wrapped around his neck.

"I love you." I stated as we pulled apart.

"I love you to babe." I placed one last kiss to the corner of him mouth as we sat in our seats. I had already grabbed a chair for gumbo and placed my coat on it so he would have something to cuddle up with. Ordering was hectic for the waiter, we had eleven people to serve plus a growing baby. Which i ordered steak but blended slightly so his little baby teeth could cut through.

"Excuse me mam but you can't have dog's in here." A clearly uncompelled member of staff came to the table looking at gumbo.

"You shouldn't speak about Tyler like that he has feelings." I responded as Stefan compelled her leaving us without any more fuss apart from Tyler glaring at me.

"So what's his name?" Damon asked glancing at my sleeping baby.

"Gumbo." I responded coolly and Damon pulled a face.

"Why?" He asked and i shrugged, why not?

"It's a bit weird don't you think?" Stefan then piped in and i narrowed my eyes.

"We are currently sat with one human, a hybrid, a witch, two siphoner's one of which being the leader of a coven that makes twins merge until one dies, three vampires, a ripper, a mystical hunter and an ex vampire hunting vampire who was once possessed by the original hybrid and your coming for my child's name?" I defended heatedly and he nodded with a quick okay and chuckle. 

Kai grabbed my hand laughing silently whilst removing the knife from it which i had been pointing at Stefan without realizing. 

"Gumbo is such a nice name." Care changed the attention to her as i smiled with a nod of agreement.

"She's wanted to name a dog that since we first watched the princess and the frog, kai defiantly gets brownie points for actually getting the dog." Bonnie explained and i smiled to myself knowing she remembered.

"Why a Doberman though?" Jeremy asked and kai cleared his throat.

"I know this one. There super bad ass but cute at the same time imagine how cool i would look with one at my side?!" Kai impersonated as i turned to my puppy.

"Looks like your in the bed and Daddy's on the sofa." I baby talked the dog who was chowing on his steak taking a moment to lick my face gaining a belly rub.

"Daddy?" Damon asked and i rose an eyebrow as if to say - yeah?- 

"Yeah what's up Damon?" Alaric responded which had me howling in laughter.

"So when are you and Stefan getting together?" I asked Caroline after a while she blushed deeply hiding her face so i turned to Stefan who was doing the exact same.

"You already are aren't you? Perfect." Damon nodded as i watched the two sharing love sick glances.

"We aren't like that right?" Kai asked me and i shuck my head as Damon scoffed.

"You two are worse, it's like you've never had love before." He joked but i can tell it hit something in kai so i decided to go all gross and yucky to remind him that he had my whole heart. 

"When your in love with someone Damon, it is like you have never had love before becuase that one person is the person you see your self having loved, loving and will ever love." I squeezed kai's hand taking a sip from my drink.

"Yeah but you don't have to be all gross-"

"Just wait until I've trained gumbo to bite you." I grumbled glaring at him.

"Have you seen you and Elena? It's disgusting your always undressing each other with yours eyes." Jeremy grimaced as i laughed watching Elena flush. 

"Just because your a virgin little gilbert." Damon joked but we all knew he wasn't, a couple people looked to me but i rose my hands in surrender.

"I never did it with Jer." He nodded backing up my point but it seemed as though kai ignored us because he was glaring at Jeremy.

"I did!" Tyler shouted and i sighed frustratedly as kai shot daggers at him tightening his grip on my hand.

"Tyler shut up." Bonnie scolded smacking him around the head.

"What?! I thought we were bonding." Ty defended himself earning another smack.

"All I'm saying is kai is a lucky guy, very lucky." I grimaced as he continued earning another whack.

"Might wanna hold your tongue Taylor, or ill cut it out." Kai threatened and i choked on my drink snatching the knife from him.

"Hey jeez, calm down." I tried to soothe as he looked back to me, i placed a quick kiss to his cheek as bonnie scolded Tyler.

"Aren't you dating his sister?" Stefan asked and i begged to what ever god there was they would just move on.

"Yeah but i still slept with Az, lots of times actually." I physically couldn't hold kai back as he went hurtling over the table punching Tyler in the jaw, i just sat back sighing. Could the dumb fuck just not keep his mouth closed?
