They had been back at the motel for a couple of hours doing research. Dean had put Liddy down for a nap and she was still sleeping at he and Sam worked. Sam turned back to dean "wait, wait, wait. your doing a nation wide search?"

Dean didn't even bother taking his eyes off the screen "yep. The NCIC, the FBI database. At this point, any Mary who died in front of a mirror is good enough for me." Sam walked over and sat down beside him "but if she's haunting the town, she should've died in the town."

Dean shook his head "I'm telling you, there's nothing local. I've checked so Unless you got a better idea.." Sam tried to think "the way Mary is choosing its victims, it seems like there's a pattern." Dean nodded "I know, I was thinking the same thing."

Sam has a theory "with Mr shoemaker and jill's hit and run" dean finished Sam's sentence "both had there secrets where people died." Sam nodded "yeah. I mean there a lot of folklore about mirrors. That they reveal all your lies, all your secrets. That there a true reflection of your soul which is why it's bad luck to break them"

Dean agreed while still sorting through the database "right right. So I guess maybe if you've got a secret, like a real nasty one where someone dies, that then Mary see's it and punishes your for it." Sam famished the theory "wheather your the one that summoned her or not"

Dean finally found something that matched what they were looking for and printed out some of the photo's and details for Sam to look "take a look at this." Sam saw was dean did "looks like the same hand print"

Dean started reading out "her name was Mary Worthington. An unsolved murder in Fort Wayne, Indiana." The boy's looked at each other knowing they found the right Mary but both jumped when Liddy sat up quickly yelling "sad Mary!" Dean sighed and quickly got up to sooth her since she started crying, he really couldn't figure out what was going on with her and wished he could just call dad for help.

Sam was to busy looking through the details of the what they found. Dean sat with her curled up on his lap. He rubbed her back soothingly "hey Bub, it's ok. Nothing scary here." He took him a couple of minutes but she finally calmed down. 'We finally think we found who we were looking for, we will make Mary happy again ok?" It was the only way he could explain to her that the ghosts were upset and when they did what they did, they ghost was happy and moved on. It wasn't exactly a lie but it was the only way she understood.

Dean was still siting with her when Sam got up and started grabbing stuff to leave "wow dude. Where's the fire?" Sam looked back at dean to see him sitting with Liddy. "We need to go talk to this cop, we don't have time for tantrums or anything so just grab her and let's go." Sam walked out the door to the car.

Dean was getting really angry with Sam's behaviour towards Liddy but he tried to stay calm and not blow up in front of her. He wasn't going to have to find time to have a talk with him because he wasn't going to allow him to get being like this with her, no matter what was happening around it was never to be taken out on her.

He took a few deep breaths and looked down at Liddy "your not throwing a tantrum, your being really good, but let's not fight with him right now ok? I'll sort it out later. Let's go work, yeah?" She nodded and slid off his lap "ya! Make Mary lady nice again" he smiled at thought. She was such a sweetheart.

He grabbed what he needed and Liddy' s little bag for the back of the car before picking her up and walking out, she was still in one of her onesies so he didn't want her getting the feet if it dirty. Sam was already impatiently waiting in the car. Dean tried not to take to much noticed of Sam rolling his eyes at them and set about getting her settled before heading off, it was a longish drive before they got to where they were going.
