Supernatural - Baby Winchester (Season One - fanfiction)

Chapter Three

31st October 2005,

The black impala pulls up out the front of an apparent building in the dead of night. Dean sits for a few seconds looking up at the apparent seeing all the lights are out. He sigh's, then looks into the back seat. His baby sister Liddy is fast asleep in her care seat. Dean contemplated if he should risk waking her up and bringing her inside or just letting her sleep bringing the baby monitor.

Dean picks up the baby monitor and checks that both were on. He leans over the back seat making sure the blanket was around her and her red dragon stuffy was snug by her side. He was pretty sure she wouldn't wake up by now. He got out quietly, made sure the doors were locked and there area seemed clear before making his way to the fire escape of the apartment building.

He put the baby monitor in the pocket of his jacket and started to climb. He counted the floors making sure he got the right one. He checked the window and noticed it wasn't even locked. 'What the hell sammy, don't even lock your damn windows' he thought to himself as he quietly opened the window.

He climbed through and fell onto the kitchen table knocking something onto the ground. He listened for a few seconds but heard  nothing. He made his way to the fridge first. 'Really Sammy, no beer?' He thought as he shook his head closing the fridge.

Dean started walking around the apartment. It was pretty nice in his opinion but couldn't figure out where the bedroom was. He opened a door walked into what seems to be the living room. He stopped and looked around until he felt an impact from behind. He started blocking hits that his attacked was throwing. They both started trading blows. Dean managed to get a good hit in before his attacker came at him again. Before the attacked could grab him though, dean got a hold of him first flipping him over and slamming him to the ground.

Dean was above his attacker who he knew was the one and only person he was looking for. His brother Sam. He held onto his wrist and smiled down to Sam "Wow, easy tiger." He said smirking. "Dean?" Sam asked looking up at his older brother in shock. Dean started laughing lightly. Sam was still trying to catch his breath and calm down "you scared the crap out of me".

Dean smirks and mocked Sam "that's cause your out of practice". Dean let his guard down. That was a mistake. Sam took this as his opportunity to flip dean over and gain the upper hand. "Ha, or not. Get off me" dean says as he taps sam's leg. Sam gets up and pulls dean with him.

Sam gets straight to questioning his brother "dean, what the hell are you doing here?" Dean couldn't help but be a smart arse "Well I was looking for a beer". Sam stares at him and speaks to him again more seriously "what the hell are you doing here?" Dean noticed his brother wasn't going to joke back so he decided to be serious "ok, alright. We've got to talk" Sam looks at him confused "ahh the phone?" Dean huffs "if I'd a called would you have pick up?".

Before Sam can answer, the light in the living room is turned on and a blond women calls out to Sam. Dean looks at the women shocked. "Jess... hey. Ah dean this is my girlfriend Jessica" dean can help but put on his charming smile towards her. He steps forward a little "wait, your brother dean?" Dean wasn't listening. To busy noticing her cut shirt "I ah, love the smirfs . You know I gotta tell you. You are completely out of my brothers league." She smiles at Sam uncomfortably "I'll just put something else on". Dean cuts in quick "no, no no no I wouldn't dream of it...seriously. Anyway I gotta borrow your boyfriend here. Talk about some private family business, but ah nice meeting you."

Sam looks at dean oddly. Then he looks over to jess. He walks over to her and puts his arm around her "no..no what ever you want to say, you can say it in front of her." Dean looks at him like he's stupid. "Ok... um, dad hasn't been home in a few days." Sam answers condescendingly "so, he's working overtime on a miller time shift. He'll stumble back in sooner or later".
