It was early the next morning when the cops finally released the boys. They had been worried all night about what the cops would do with Liddy but lucky for them, they just let her sleep in one of the offices and had fed her. The main cop said they were only gonna be in there for the night so he didn't see any reason to call social services but he did give them a warning.

The minute Liddy seen her brothers she ran straight to them and gave them big kisses on there cheeks. Dean smiled and held her tightly as they left. He was still passed at having been locked up all night and being seperated from Liddy. Luckily he was able to talk there way out of anything worse. He pushed the door open roughly and said over his shoulder to Sam "saved your arse. Talked the sheriff down to a fine. Dude, I'm Matlock."

Sam was confused "but how? And if you were so good, how come it took you so long to get Liddy back." Dean smirked "told him you were a dumb arse pledge and we were hazing you. I could have gotten her earlier but it was safer for her in the office to sleep then out with all the baddies why I got your arse out."

Sam rolled his eyes "fine... what about the shotgun?" Dean smirked again as Liddy shoved her face in his neck still sleepy. He looked at Sam again "I said that you were hunting ghosts and the spirits were repelled by rick salt. You know. Typical he'll week prank." Sam laughed "and he believed you?" Dean nodded "well, you look like a dumb arse pledge."

They walked up to where there car had been parked by one of the cops, nice enough not to leave the car out there. They turned when they herd the door slam open and watched a group of cops racing out and into there cars frantic,y driving off. The guys had a feeling they needed to get where they were going too. They jumped into the front and dean handed Liddy to Sam so he could quickly follow.

Sam held her tightly to keep her safe as dean pulled up out the front of a girls sorority house where cops and ambulance where all parked out the front off. There was also a lot of girls standing around in there PJ's all looking pretty shaken up. As they drove threw, they saw Lori siting. In an ambulance looking back at them. They could see she was clearly involved in what ever had happened  and knew they needed to find out how.

Dean decided to pull up around the corner so they wouldn't be seen by all the cops since they had just seen them the night before. They got out and looked around to make sure no one was seeing them and gently closed the doors. Dean jumped up on a wall before holding his hands out for Liddy. Sam passed her over and jumped as well. They snuck around the back area of the house and stayed close to the house to try and not be seen.

Sam whispered to dean "why would the hook man come here, so far from nine-mike road?" Dean whispered back "maybe he's not haunting the scene of his crime. Maybe it's about something else." They quickly flattened themselves against the wall as too girls walked out of the house, luckily not seeing them.

Dean couldn't help himself but check out the girls and smirked "dude, sorority girls. Think we'll see a naked pillow fight?" Liddy smacked his head making him look at her as she frowned at him. He knows she doesn't actually get what he's saying but she's very jealous if his attention isn't on her. He looked and seen Sam had climbed up onto a balcony.

Sam turned and held his arms out for Liddy. Dean passed her up before climbing up himself. Sam snuck along the edge with Liddy presses against the wall. He moved her over a railing where there was an open window they could get in through. Dean caught up quickly and helped sam get through before passing Liddy through.

Once inside Sam held her tightly and whispers "hide your eyes bub. No looking. You know what to do" she quickly nodded and shoved her face into his neck so that she couldn't see anything. This was there trick so she didn't see anything to bad by accident.

Sam looked through the crack of the open door to see they were in the closet of the crime seen room. He could see a cop walking around and then out the door. He gently opened the door and saw the cop going down the stairs. The boys quietly snuck into the room and started looking around.

They both froze when they saw the writing in blood on the wall saying 'aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light' with some strange symbol at the bottom. Sam read it and realised "that's right out of the legend." Dean confirmed "yeah, that's classic hook man, all right. And it's definitely a spirit." Liddy nodded and Sam neck and whispers "yucky." Sam patted her back "yeah. I've never smelled ozone this strong before."

He looked around and called to dean "hey, come here. Does that look familiar to you?" He pointed to the symbol that he remembers seeing somewhere. Dean had a hunch but said they would confirm once they got out. They looked around a bit more but couldn't find any other clues so the snuck back out the way they got in.

They made it back to the car and pulled out some of there documents. Dean sat on the bonnet next to Sam with Liddy cuddled into him. They found the page with the symbol and dean pointed "it's the same symbol." Sam sighed " seem's like it is the spirit of Jacob carnes." Liddy whispers "kook" the boys frown at the slightly creepy reminded that she had said this before they even got to town.

They both tried to push the thought away and focus on the case for now. Dean cleared his throat "alright, let's find the dudes grave, salt and burn the bones, and put him down." He tried not to take noticed of Liddy shaking her head no to his words. Sam started reading from the information "after execution, Jacob carnes was laid to rest in an old north cemetery... in an unmarked grave."

The boys were both annoyed at that, this just made the job a lot harder "super" dean said frustrated. They both pushed off the front of the car and walked around the sides. Dean started getting Liddy settled into her car seat as sam spoke "ok, so we know it's Jacob carnes. But we still don't know where he'll manifest next or why."

Dean had finished with liddy and walked to his door when he noticed a note in the windshield. He picked it up and read it before replying to Sam "oh I'll take a wild guess about why. I think your little friend lori has something to do with this." Sam looked at him confused but got in the car with him and they drove off.

....

It was later that night and the boys were at a college party. Dean was kind of enjoying himself but Sam wasn't. They had left Liddy in the car to sleep and Sam had a baby monitor so he could hear if she woke up.

Dean walked up to Sam smiling" man, you've been holding out on me. This college thing is awesome." Sam looked around uncomfortably "this wasn't really my experience. Plus I don't really want to leave Liddy out in the car alone for too long."

Dean smirked "she's fine. And let me guess. Library, studying, straight A's." Sam nodded. Dean shook his head "what a geek. All right, did you do your homework?" Sam nodded and pulled up some information "yeah. It was bugging me, right? How is the hook man tied up with Lori? So I think I came up with something."

They started walking through the groups of college people as Sam showed him what he found. Dean started reading "1932, clergyman arrested for murder. 1967, seminarian held in hippie rampage." Sam pointed "there's a pattern. In both cases, the suspect was a man of religion. Who preached against immortality and then found himself wanted for killings he claimed were the work of an invisible force. Killings carried out, get this, with a sharp instrument."

Dean still couldn't place one thing though "what's the connection with Lori?" Sam answered "a man of religion....who openly preaches against immortality?" Now it clicked for dean. Sam continued "except. Maybe this time instead of saving the hole town he's just trying to save his only daughter." Dean nodded "reverend Sorensen. You think he's summoning the spirit?" Sam looked around "maybe. Or... you know how a poltergeist can haunt a person instead of a place?"

Dean thought then nodded "yeah, the spirit patches onto the reverend's repressed emotions, feeds off them. Yeah, ok." Sam finished "without the reverend ever even knowing it." Dean took a breath "either way, you should keep an eye on Lori tonight." Sam nodded "what about you and Liddy?"

Dean saw a really pretty girl looking at him but knew he needed to be responsible right now. He sighed dramatically "We're gonna go see if we can find that unmarked grave." Sam smirked as he saw the look on dean's face as he walked away.
