Ch. 17: My Euphoria

That morning Levi went to Commander Erwin, and asked for a slight change of schedule.

Levi suggested that every cadet should take a day off and go into study groups to familiarize themselves with the surrounding area near the camp, and the reason was so the cadets won't be too shook when going on exploration the next month.

To everyone's surprise Commander Erwin agreed.

So today, it was like taking a stroll around the camp area with your 3D Manuver Gear on the whole time, just in case any titans appeared out of nowhere. However much walking and climbing small hills and rocks, you tried not to show any sign of pain on your face.

All of you stopped by a riverbed to rest. You stood on the side in the shade under a tree and watched the water glistened under the sun.

Jean and Marco went into the slow current of the river, with their shirt sleeve and pants rolled up. Looking like they were having much fun, looking for something in the current. Armin stood beside Mikasa and Eren as they scanned the area, chatting lightly away. While Sasha and Connie ran through the trees like wild kids as they chased after anything that moves.
Reiner and Bertholdt layed idly on the grass under tree, beside each other. Just enjoying the fresh air and scenery for a change.
Suddenly, Sasha came sprinting into view, and grabbed your wrist as she passed by. Your eyes widened in surprise as you had no time to react.
"Rabbit hunt!" Connie followed close behind as they chased a rabbit in view, pulling you along.

Internally, you cried in silence, as your hips hurt as you ran.

Abruptly, you saw a green cloak flutter into view. The gush of wind obstructed your eyes. As the three of you almost slam into the tall figure in front of you. His blue eyes looked strikingly at the three of you. Your boots skidded against the dirt floor with a trail of dust smoke.
Stopping just enough with gap of one feet apart from Commander Erwin.

Sasha immediately let go of your wrist and the three of you stood straight.

"Don't waste your energy." he said. "We'll be back in about an hour or so. If anything happens we might not be able to save you." The three of you gulped, and ran back to the gathering spot, after bowing apologeticlly to Erwin, "Yes, sir." the three of you shouted.

Commander Erwin notified everyone to gather in their groups with their assigned Corporal, which this time Levi was able to lead you group.

On the walk back to camp, Connie walked beside you, as Mikasa walked beside Eren and further in the front was Levi and Hange. It was a nice stroll around the perimeters of the camp, for awhile as you gaze at the setting sun, the sky painted a gradation of yellow, orange and red. Wishing it was only you and Levi walking side by side.

Commander rounded up the Survey Crops and talked about the formation and team distribution for the next exploration, which will start in three days time. Then everyone was dismissed.

In the midst of the dispersing crowd, Levi looked for you. As your eyes met  you gave him a slight smile. You walked back towards Levi's cabin. As Levi walked toward the camp coornidator's cabin.

You were gazing at the starry night sky above, when abruptly pulled into the bushes. The bushes rustled, some twigs snapped as your body got flopped onto the grassy dirt ground behind the bushes with a *thud*. Your eyes shut tight, then slowly opened them, as there were nothing but silence. You met the eyes of the person straddling you.
It was Petra.
Petra shoved you quite harshly onto the ground, as you swallowed. You grabbed her hand, that clutched on your shirt collar.

"Pe.." you started to say .

"There's just something I really want to ask you for myself." Petra said.
