Ch. 37: Where are you?

Before all of you left the mansion, Hange had checked the hallway and the room that you were held in. It turns out the other end of the hallway lead to an underground cellar. Unfortunately, there were still no sign of Furlan when all of you got back.

Immediately, Hange goes to report the statues to Commander Erwin. The cadets brought the woman to the hospital first to wrap up her wounds, before sending her to the interrogation room. While you rush to the single hospital room Levi was being treated in.

You knock on the door. Then slowly, opens the wooden door to Levi's hospital room. You peek in, not sure if he was sleeping. As you glance inside, you see Levi gazing at the scenery outside the glass window. He turns his head toward the door, meeting your gaze.

You quickly close the door behind you and go to his bed side. Carefully hold on to his hand, which he had reached out to you.

He looks at you and calls out to you in a soft voice that reminded you of Furlan, "Come here." he says.

You got onto his bed and snuggle against his warmth as tears drips down your cheeks, sobbing silently into his arms, as he wraps them around you. Levi rests his chin on top of your head as you cried.

You've never seen him cry.
But you know it wasn't because he didn't feel any pain or sadness, but because he had been through so much, that it just builds up inside. And he became numb to the feeling. Levi contiunes to stare out the window as he hold you in his arms.

"Don't worry. We'll find him." you hear him say above you, he plants a kiss on top of your head, as your blurry eyes look at the bandages wrapped around his torso.

"What did they say about your wounds?" you sniffle and lift your head up to look at him.

Levi looks down upon you says, "It's just some bruising, I can still move quite well. I'm stronger than I look."

"I know." you say as you lean your head on his shoudler, and he wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer into his embrace.

You close your eyes, as a tear trail down your cheek. It had been a long day, and you can feel the energy drain from your body as you lay in his arms. Eventually the both of you drifting off to sleep.

You don't know how long you've slept. But it was most likely around 15 mins, but felt like an hour since you were in deep sleep.

"Awwwww~" you hear someone sounded by the edge of the bed. As you slowly open your eyes, then jumped a bit with wide eyes as you see Nanaba. Her elbows proped up on the side of Levi's hospital bed as she props her head up by placing her face into both palms of her hands. Looking at you and Levi curl up in each other's arms.

Nanaba sighs, " Even through tough times, the two of you are lovey dovey. It's so cute." Nanaba beams a smile at you.

"Isn't that what husband and wife are suppose to do." Levi says bluntly.

"Being cute?" Nanaba asks.

Levi glances at Nanaba with a deadpan face and simply replys, "support each other."

Nanaba laughs slightly at her effort to lighten up the mood.

You chuckle lightly at their short conversation, and slowly lifts your head off his chest. However, Levi pushes your head back onto his chest with the palm of his hand, like he didn't want to let you go.

"Were you going to say something?" Levi questions Nanaba, you glance up at Levi who continues to look at Nanaba, even though she was glancing at you with a slight smile. Nobody can see it, but you know that he's hiding a smirk under that deadpan face.
