When you woke up the next morning, you couldn't help but gaze at him. Levi looked so peaceful sleeping next to you. The curtain swayed lightly, as a small gust of wind slipped through the crack of the closed window.

The sunlight sipping through the fold of the curtain, casted some light onto his face, not enough for him to wake up, but enough that you saw the reflecting light off the the necklace he have around his neck. It was the same one he had given you last night.

A matching pair.

You reached your hand over to him, brushing your fingers lightly, waking him, as he opened one eye to look at you. He smiled at you and cupped your hand that was touching him on his cheek holding it like he didn't want you to let go.

Slowly he sat up from the bed, you got up as well to sit next you and leaned your head on his shoulder. The both of you closed your eyes, enjoying each other's company.

The last month of training had come and gone. With everyone familiarized with their combat gear, horseback riding and the surrounding snowy landscape. Commander Erwin had assessed that everyone was prepared.

Soon, the whole Survey Corps set off on their first day of their new exploration.

Everyone rode a horse of their own. The ride was longer than expected, as everyone rode silently through the forested area, and up the steep slopes of a mountain. Even though everyone told each other to not look over the cliffs, but none of you could help but look. Everyone inhaling deeply as all of you try to overcome your fear as you crossed. The horses were strong and as brave as their owners, crossing the mountainous area with heavy steps.

Commander Erwin signaled everyone to stop on the edge of a cliff, overlooking it you could see a town nearby. Every building had reddish brown roofs, and beige walls. The townscape glowed quite peacefully under the sunlight.

The trip toward the town was unexpectedly quiet. As all of you arrived, passing a giant cream colored arc that welcomed you all into town.

"Thank God, we're not staying overnight in the forest!" Connie exclaimed beside you, riding his horse parallel to yours as he gave you a wide happy grin. Sasha's horse came up from behind, "Then where will we be staying?"

"Most likely an inn." Renier rode close to Eren on the right.

When all of you arrived, you were seperated into four cadets to one room. Before exiting the inn that was prepared, everyone was told to gear up and survey their surroundings.

Not everything was clear, but the cadets were stationed at the rooftops. Your gaze hovered over the quite peaceful town. That's when all of you realized something.

Eren was missing.

Krista was missing.

Suddenly gun shots were heard from a distance, a few just a bit closer. The cadets looked at each other in panic.  Until they saw Levi zooming by in his gear down below. Zipping through the building at such speed that it was a bit hard to catch up. Your group swing down toward Levi's direction.

Jean was on the wagon, but he froze as he pointed his blade at the human who got knocked down in front of him. Thankfully, Sasha and Connie came into view to scoop away their comrades as Armin unknowingly fired the gun at the girl who was about to attack Jean.

Krista and Eren laid still in the wagon  but no one was able to save them in time. A few more unknown gunman zipped in and took over the wagon, as Levi's group withdrew, as multiple shots were fired in their direction. Levi quickly sweeped in, in front of his group of cadets.

Levi blocked Mikasa from going any further, "Don't do it." he said firmly.

Mikasa wanted to hasten after the wagon, but Levi held her in place, "Fall back!" Levi commanded to his cadets. You looked at the wagon carrying both Eren and Krista, gradually getting smaller into the distance.
