The strings of fate is interconnected. What are bound to happen will happen. Some events that were denied or prevented from happening will always find its way to occur again. Because that is the nature of interconnected fate. One event will always lead to another event.
Corazon death was previously denied by Marin's help. But his string of fate is strongly attached to Doflamingo's fate. The two will likely meet again.

Corazon was shot. By sudden intentional aim on him. The shooter really caught him off guard.

"Fuffuffuffuf... Are you surprised to see me here, dear brother?" Doflamingo walks down from his Sky's Path to see his little brother hissing in pain on the ground.
「Dofy!?」
"We met finally. It's really been a while." Doflamingo walks closer with his odd, bow-legged waddle. Grinning wide as if he's confident in successfully cornering and dominating over Corazon.
Corazon braces himself to get up. He leans against a tree for support. Panting. His body desperately needs oxygen to sustain the injured area. Corazon stares at Doflamingo coming in closer to him.
"Why is it? Are you really that surprised to see me here? You must be thinking why on Earth am I doing here, while I am suppose to be at the auction place, right? Too naive, Corazon."
Doflamingo grins.
"You are just playing into my hand. Fuffuffuffuf. Your coming to that auction place last night and your escape with that woman hostage, everything was planned. I anticipated everything."
Corazon didn't say anything. His coarse and hard breathing can be heard aloud. His left hand clutching the wound he got from Doflamingo's Bullet String. Doflamingo purposely shot him in non-fatal area.
"Why don't you say something? I know you can talk all along. You don't have to pretend anymore." He talked in his word-per-word speech.
