Chapter 10 Torn between Love and Hate

I was so pissed off, with myself, with Zoey. The situation is driving me crazy. Shit! I am so jealous for every admiration, for every affection she's getting from other men. Zach was right. She is a stunner. I just dont have the right with whatever I felt for her. In fact, I have a girlfriend that I need to focus my attention. It's not fair for Lilly. While Zoey consumed my mind and blows my imagination. I'm about to get crazy. Hindi man lang pumasok sa isipan ko si Lilly. I just felt guilty right now, for being in a relationship with her but she never occupies my mind as Zoey would.

Narinig kong tumunog ang cellphone ko. "Miss me sweetheart? I wish, I'm with you right now." Narinig ko si Lilly sa kabilang linya.

Hindi ko naramdaman ang excitement compared sa boses ni Zoey na nakaka excite napakalambing kahit galit, it's a music to my ears. "I'm busy here Lilly. Got to call you back." Sagot ko ng matamlay. I don't want to talk to her right now.

Then, I heard screaming on the other line. "That's bullshit Matthew. Why all of a sudden, you lost your interest in me? You don't think, I don't feel it? Dahil ba sa hampas lupang Zoey na yan, kaya ka nagkakaganyan?" Sigaw niya. What the heck! Why that sudden outburst?

"Cut that crap Lilly. you better watch your mouth. I will talk to you as soon as I come back from Batangas. I'll see you tomorrow. As usual, Cafe Bistro 5:00 pm." Sabi ko and cut our conversation.

It is early in the morning. I have to come out here at the veranda of the cottage. Alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi si Lilly ang itinitibok ng puso ko. I need to get out of this situation. It's not fair for Lilly. How about Zoey? She's innocent with this. I'll try to make sure. I will not drag her unto my messy situation.

Then, I saw Zoey. ang ganda ng umaga ko. I'm so lucky this morning. To be able to wake up, to see this beautiful siren place and to see Zoey walking towards the direction of our cottage. how about waking up everyday with this woman by my side? She's igniting the fire within me. I am a mess!

"Good morning po Sir. Parang ang ganda ng ngiti niyo this morning. I brought you a good breakfast for us. Niluto namin ni Aling Martha." Sabi niyang nakangiti.

" Don't call me sir. Tayo lang dalawa dito. Stop the formality. By the way, do you always smile to every man you encounter?" Sabi ko at sa hindi ko maintindihang sitwasyon. Bigla kong hinablot ang kamay ni Zoey and tighten my hold. "That's a big come on for males. Don't you dare do that with other men at baka makapatay ako!" Singhal ko sa kanya.

"Ano ba Matthew, nasasaktan ako. Ano ka ba? Bakit ang init agad ng ulo mo ng makita mo ako?" Sabi niya.

"Good morning. Oh hi Zoey! Are you guys Okay?" I heard my Mom as she peak on her cottage door she shared with dad.

"We're alright Mom." Sabi ko kay Mommy.

"Now go! Ang aga, pinainit mo ang ulo ko." Yung ulo ko ba ang mainit o yung katawan ko nag iinit kay Zoey. I know, I don't mean to hurt her. I meant to hug her and kiss her like there's no tomorrow. That's just one reason to hide my feelings towards her. Make her feel like I loathe her but in reality, my mind is only full of Zoey. Now I know, I'm on a deep shit! I need to stay away from her.

"Breakfast is ready. Do you want juice, coffee or tea?" Narinig kung tanong ni Zoey. Nakita ko siyang pinapahiran ang luha.

"Zoey, I'm sorry." Sabi ko sa kanya. Crap, she's melting my heart. "Why not sit down here and eat with me. Everyone is still asleep. Ang aga mong nagising." Sabi ko. Sabay turo sa upuan beside me.

She grab the chair and sit beside me. "Maaga talaga akong nagigising. I made sure na ready na ang pagkain pagka gising ng parents ko. Ako ang naghahanda for us." Sabi niyang mas lalo akong napahanga.

"Magiging mabuti kang asawa at Nanay sa mga anak mo. Napaka sipag mo." Sabi kong tinitingnan siya sa mata.

"Salamat. Sana magkaroon din ako ng pamilya. katulad ng sa amin at sa inyo din. Nagmamahalan ang buong pamilya. For me, nothing matters most but family." Sabi niya habang nagsasandok ng rice at nilagay sa plate ko. habang ako na mesmerize sa mukha niya at nakatuon ang mata ko sa maganda niyang labi.

Bigla na lang akong nagulat. "Kumain ka na at maaga pa tayong uuwi sabi ni Sir kahapon para hindi daw tayo gabihin sa daan sabi ng Daddy mo." Sabi ni Zoey.

The vacation to be with Zoey and myself is an eye opener. I finally made a decision to break up with Lilly. we are sitting here at the cafe.

"You are full of shit for breaking my heart. I will not let you go. Tandaan mo, akin ka lang Matthew!" Galit na galit na sabi niya.

Oh hell! Nasaktan ko si Lilly at the same time it is a relief for me to end our relationship. I realized that I need to be honest with my life. I need to start it right now.
