"Alrighty!" Tucker bellowed as he barged in my bedroom uninvited. "Let's make it happen!"
"Are you okay?" I asked in a deadpan tone while flipping the pages of the book in my hands. Clearly I'm attempting my best Miss Mya impression.
I would've ignored him though. The resident demon inside my head chimed in.
I don't hate Tucker like you though.
I don't hate him. She said matter of factly. Hating him requires caring about his existence.
What do you have against him then?
Nothing. I just don't think such a boring life form warrants a slot on this planet.
For Tucker's sake, I hope you two don't meet anytime soon.
"Okay? I'm ecstatic!" Tucker expressed by shadow boxing.
"Why? Did you find another date?"
"No...look, that's not the point. Yesterday, you might've been able to get out of the butt whoopin' I was gonna hand to ya because of your little demon drama crap, but you ain't fakin' today. I'm gonna dominate that air hockey table today."
"If you hog the air hockey table too much, we'll get kicked out again." I reminded him.
"You act like I caused it. They overreacted!"
"The situation was manageable until you started challenging the staff, who were asking you politely to step off the machine, to a match to determine whether you had to give up your spot or not."
"Bruh, I was the king of the hill! Not my fault they didn't want the smoke." He murmured, crossing his arms.
Tucker, why are you so hard headed?
"Ahem, anyway." He cleared his throat like he was giving a speech to a wide audience. "Let's hit the road. I wanna be out of here in five minutes or less."
"Yes sir." I said sarcastically.
I dropped the book down on my bed and threw my shoes on. Without me noticing, Tucker grabbed the book and was analyzing it like he was laying eyes on some foreign object. Well I guess to Tucker, a book was basically an alien life form.
"Watcha readin?" Tucker asked as he studied the pages.
"It's a book about weapons made by the goddesses."
"Like a story or..."
I shrugged. "I don't know. But considering it had my weapon described in there, it may actually be accurate."
Tucker shivered and pointed to Essentia on the nightstand. "You mean there's more of these things in the world? And I thought just one was bad."
"I'm curious to find another." I admitted. "I would like to see what the other weapons are like."
"Hah, no thanks!" Tucker yelled, shaping his arms into a cross. "A big fat no for me. Who knows what havoc the others are causing around the globe."
"But what if you got one?" You could be a real adventurer with superpowers." I noted.
Tucker scratched his chin, his face giving away the details of his daydream fantasies. After a moment, he shook his head. "Nope, no, nada. I want nothing to do with any of those demons."
The feeling's mutual, Miss Mya expressed.
"Well, are you ready?" I asked Tucker.
"Course I am. Leggo."
Tucker shot out of my room like a bullet, while dragging me behind. I'm pretty sure my feet never left the ground. He dashed full speed, nearly running into a few of the newer maids and butlers who weren't yet accustomed to Tucker's antics. He practically glided through the air when we went down the stairs and bolted out of the front door quick enough to give the road runner a run for its money.
