The next few days flew by in a flash. I'd like to say I spent my last few days before my trip having fun around the city, but aside from meeting up with Roxanne once she got out of school, I've mainly been lazing around the house. I did spend some time in Miss Mya's library, though I felt too flustered to ask about Ória.

Just thinking about how I burst out crying made me want to shut the memories of her out. Part of me didn't want to meet her again for that reason but I also wanted to learn about her role within Essentia and her connection to Miss Mya.

I shook my head, trying to get rid of my current thoughts. What am I doing? Just focus on making sure you're prepared for the trip today, I commanded myself.

"Wallet? Check. Toothbrush? Check. Toothpaste? Check. Clothes? Check. Essentia? Err..."

And just like that I ran into a problem before I even left the house. I stared at the beautiful black and blue knife. Just how am I going to sneak this suspicious looking blade on an airplane?

You know you could always—

I'm not stabbing them so I can sneak you in. I said firmly.

Boo, you're no fun. Miss Mya pouted.

I ignored her.

"I think that's about it." I said proudly.

Just then, my door swung open and Tucker burst into my room, bags in hand. Not that it was unexpected. In fact, it would be more surprising if he didn't randomly waltz into my room pretty much every day. Privacy is truly a dead concept.

"Yo, you ready to go?"

I looked at Essentia one more time, unsure what to do with it. "Hmm, yeah, I just finished checking everything."

I'll figure it out when we get there. Or maybe I'll just run it across my father instead.

"You ready?" I asked.

Tucker triumphantly lifted up his bags like they were medals of honor. "Locked and loaded!"

"You're such a weirdo."

"Wahh, and you're not, Mr. Demon Whisperer?" He retorted.

He's got you there, Miss Mya stated.

You're not helping.

Never said I was. I'm just here to laugh at you.

Good to know I'm loved.

"Did you check on Mary?" I asked.

"Pfft no, I ain't running downstairs just to be met with judgmental gazes from the other maids. You know how it would look for me to randomly waltz into the maid area in the morning?"

I'm surprised he cares.

"She'll eventually come find us anyway." He said.

"You're not wrong."

"With that out of the way, let's go see Father." Instead of waiting for any sort of response, he hurriedly ran out of the room. I was going to join him in a second until I heard a loud thud. I peeked my head out the hallway to see Tucker on the ground and Mary standing before him.

I mean, it's the result I'd expect, but it's still sad to see.

I grabbed my bags and ran out. Mary has already helped him up and as usual he was complaining in an exaggerated manner as Tucker does.

"Are you two fully prepared?" Mary asked.

"Roger!" Tucker replied.

"Yeah I'm done." I said. "I assume you've already double checked everything?"
