I looked up at the long glass building once again, checking the sign to make sure I arrived at the right place.
'Ánesia General Hospital'
Definitely the right building.
Sophia told me before that my only chance to ask someone about the events when I was little was to find someone outside of the mansion. Hopefully this lady is willing to talk. No, I have to get it out of her.
I walked inside only to be nearly blown away by a powerful blast of air.
Yeesh, was the air condition this strong before?
I walked up the receptionist, only to realize she was the same woman I had fooled before. Ms. Renee, as her name tag revealed. Her long blonde hair was the straightest i've ever seen and her sapphire blue eyes were serene enough to calm even the most erratic of people.
Hopefully she doesn't remember me.
"Hello. Are you here as a visitor?" She stared at me for a moment. "Wait a second, I remember you. You're that kid from before."
Ah, busted.
"Nice to meet you again, Ms. Renee."
"I don't remember you leaving before. Did you manage to meet with Mary?"
"I'm surprised you remember her name."
"Of course I would. Mary is a regular. She's been coming here consistently for years."
"Ah, I didn't know."
She beamed. "Checking up on her mom so frequently. Such a good-natured child."
"No argument there. Mary's always been a good person."
"Mmm, I believe." She sighed happily. "So, what is the nature of your visit today?"
"I'm here to visit Sage Amber."
"What is your relationship with her?"
"Family friend" I said.
"Hmmm." She stared at me suspiciously.
Did I do something wrong? I don't think I did but she's somehow making me feel guilty.
She let off her gaze. "Alright." She handed me a pen and pushed a clipboard towards me. "Just fill in in the requested information and I'll direct you towards her room."
I wrote everything I was supposed to and handed it to her. She looked at it and back at me.
"Arthur Price, is that right?"
I nodded. "Yes, it is."
She pointed to her right. "Take this hall on the left. The elevator will be on your right. Miss Amber is in room 341 on the third floor."
"Thank you."
She smiled. "Have a nice visit."
"I will."
As I already knew the way from my last visit, there was no confusion as to where I was going. On the third floor, it was as barren as I remember. The floor was near spotless marble and on the left and right were rooms containing patients. Some doors were open while others were closed. Didn't matter to me though. I had no interest in peeking on random strangers.
But I might be interested, Miss Mya said.
Please don't, I pleaded with her.
Fine, fine. You're no fun.
I didn't have to walk too far before I found her room.
"There it is. Room 341."
I am showing up unannounced so hopefully she isn't sleep or busy with a nurse.
