The first thing I noticed when I awoke was how soft of a cushion I was on. The decorated baby blue pillow which I was slobbering on was also quite comfortable, although it didn't really mesh with the sleek black couch whose appearance it was supposed to enhance.

Surveying the mysterious room I was in, I found that it was a nice living room. The faded gray floorboards complimented the light gray walls nicely. The black and white rug, which sat under both the couch and the clear glass table, completed the look. Opposite from me was a sleek t.v. mounted on the wall.

Feeling fatigued, I stayed in the same position, hoping I'd remember where I was. I wanted to explore but I was scared of overstepping my bounds in a stranger's house. I lied there for a moment, closing my eyes to rest. Knowing my luck however, it wasn't more than a minute when someone poked my forehead. I was going to sigh at Tucker's idiocracy but to my surprise it was Roxanne.

"Oh, so you are awake."

"Mmm" was all I could manage.

She put her arms behind her head. "You can stay here for a while if you want. I don't really care. I was just checking for your brother."

"Tucker?"

"Yeah, he's pretty worried about you. I'd say he is overreacting but you were thrown from multiple stories up. If you were my brother I would probably panic too."

"So can I assume this is your home then?"

"Yup. Welcome to my humble abode." She said, spreading her arms wide.

"Wait, how did you get me here?" I asked, sitting up.

"Tucker carried you."

"I mean like, wouldn't it be pretty suspicious for the guard to see a kid passed out on someone's back while covered in blood?"

I checked my clothes only to realize what I was wearing weren't mine. I had on a brown v-neck with blue denim jeans. They were a little too big for me which wasn't too much of a problem.

"Didn't feel like dealing with it. I teleported us here."

"I see. Good to know no trouble came out of it."

"You know, for someone that was dropped multiple stories, suffered a concussion, fought against a maniac who can defy the laws of physics, and is now waking up in a stranger's house, you're pretty calm about all of this."

"I've dealt with a lot in the past few weeks."

"Oh? Have you encountered any other weapon owners?"

"No," I said. "You two were the first. I haven't had my weapon long though."

"How long?" She inquired.

"About two weeks."

She made a thinking face and then waved to her hand to dismiss it. "Ah, yeah, you're practically a newborn then."

"A newborn? How long have you had yours?"

"Bout a year, give or take."

I guess she's right. Compared to her I basically am a baby. But if she's had hers for a year, I question how long the other's have had theirs.

"Have you met any others besides me?"

She sat down next to me. "Nope. No one aside from the girl who had my scythe. Although technically it wasn't a scythe before."

"Your's can change appearance?"

"Your's can't?"

I shook my head and we both stared at each other inquisitively.
