Don't worry. You'll be fine Arthur, I had to tell myself.
Didn't you ask for this? Miss Mya asked.
I did. But that doesn't mean I'm suddenly fearless.
"Arthur, you're too tense." Clarissa informed me.
No you're too relaxed.
I tightened my grip on Ainia, not that it seemed like she cared.
Try looking around, Miss Mya suggested. Maybe that will ease your mind.
I wanted to rebuttal and say that's stupid. My problem is that I'm surrounded on all sides by water. I don't get how reminding myself of this will help.
Instead, I shut up and did as she said. I gazed around me and like I thought, there was nothing but land. Occasionally, I saw random islands but with as fast as Baihu was moving it didn't last longer than ten or twenty seconds.
To my surprise, the butterflies in my stomach disappeared. Despite how horrifying it was to be on open water, I became mesmerized at the open sky around me. The sun's rays were vibrant and kept me warm.
The wind was a little too strong for my liking though, and admittedly scared me. Although I knew the chance was next to non-existent, the idea of a blast of air knocking me into water gave me the chills.
"This is so cool!" Clarissa shouted.
"Hahaha, that's it Issa!" Ainia yelled.
Baihu roared.
Ainia patted his fur. "Yur having fun too, aren't ya buddy?"
He roared again and Ainia laughed.
I took a deep breath. The air tasted so fresh. The air around me and the air was so cool.
"Feeling any better Arthur?" Clarissa asked.
"Yeah I'm a lot better now."
She giggled. "I can tell."
What do you mean? Oh right, she is holding my waist.
"How far are we Ainia?" I asked.
"Hm. I'd say about halfway there."
"You sure?"
"Nope!"
I frowned.
Whatever, it's not like I'm in a rush to get home.
It won't last forever, after all, Miss Mya sang. Might as well enjoy it.
I'll try my best.
There was a moment I panicked when I noticed my right pocket and thought it might've slipped into the ocean. I had to remind myself that I gave it to Eris.
You know, it's not like I call anyone anyway. I guess there's Roxanne but I could always just use Tucker's phone.
The rest of the venture lasted maybe thirty minutes, after which I noticed a large mass of land. In front of the land was an area of water enclosed by large rocks.
"We're close!" Ainia announced.
Baihu sped up and leaped on and jumped off the rocks. Eventually, he passed the enclosed area and for the first time in an hour or so set foot on the ground. He trekked up and weaved and bobbed between the forest area. He shot out of the area of trees and into an area filled with houses. Baihu managed to avoid colliding with any of the bystanders and passed through all of the dark-skinned women. He leaped up high and landed on a rooftop.
Please don't kill us Baihu.
He leaped off the rooftop and landed right in front of Ainia's small mansion.
