Percy fidgeted outside the white door. Her excitement to see her Mom had turned into nervousness. How would she react? Did she think that she was dead? What had happened-

"Only one way to find out," she said aloud and knocked on the door.

Minutes passed before she heard her mother's melodious voice spoke. "Coming!"

She could hear her Mom's muffled footsteps coming closer to the door. She wiped her sweaty hands on her jeans just before the door opened. There she was, the ever so beautiful, Sally Jackson. The lines on her face had become more prominent and the grey streaks in her hair had increased. She could never see her old, though.

"H-hey Mom," she started, her eyes welling up with tears as Sally mouthed her name. "I think I'm late for dinner. Sorry." She scratched the back of her neck.

Sally stood, dumbstruck. Tears streamed down her cheeks. It was her girl, in flesh and blood. Her baby girl had grown taller, towering over her, but she was still the same, her little quirks like fidgeting on the spot and scratching her head were still the same. Her baby girl was back.

"Oh Percy!" She engulfed the girl in a hug. "Percy!" She sobbed.

The tears Percy had been holding in, and the walls she had built cane crashing down. The two collapsed in the doorway as a sobbing mess. It felt so good to be back. She had missed her mom so much, she felt right at home, the smell of blue cookies and books filled her nostrils. Her mom would hold her no matter what, her warm arms will be inviting at all times, when she wants to run away from battle and also, when she wants to lead one. She will be there.

Percy's eyes picked muffled cries from the room that she remembered as the guest room. She made her way to the room that had been newly painted in blue and cream walls with cartoon characters painted at random. Her eyes quickly find the source of the sound. There, in a white crib lay a baby.

"That's your little sister." Sally appeared on the doorway making the ravenette freeze.

The baby cried again and Sally picked her up and cooed at the baby making her giggle.

"I've a little sister?" Percy spluttered.

Sally nodded, smiling widely. "Here." She offered her to carry the little girl.

With her mother's another reassuring smile, she took the infant gingerly in her arms. For the first time in years, a pure, innocent smile full of wonder lit her face. "She looks just like you Mom." Her voice cracked as few tears spilled from her eyes.
