Groaning at the sight of my red and swollen face in the mirror, I turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would at least make me look presentable. After comforting the boys that I'd be alright, and they didn't need to come to America, I spent a few minutes of silence contemplating over their words, and reassuring my heart.

Even without the marks, they wanted me.

That simple thought alone made something warm swell inside me as it allowed me to tear away the insecurities just a little and begin rebuilding my confidence.

However, it didn't change the fact I still wanted to be independent, career-wise, and emotionally. It was great to have someone to depend on when things get too rough, but I still wanted to stand on my own feet and walk by myself. To not only be someone that my soulmates would be proud of but as well as someone that I will be proud of. I didn't want to keep living for other people's sake anymore, but I want to live for myself now. Do the things that will make me happy, not others.

It wasn't something that would come easily, I know that it'll take time and failures, but one day I hope to reach a point in my life where I can look back at all my decisions and not regret any of them.

"I wouldn't really call us friends. We're just acquaintances," a sullen voice spoke dually, dark brown eyes staring at nothing in particular as a hot cup of coffee nestled in her hands as she sat at the dining table. The air around them seemed cold, with the blankness of the house only adding to the chilling atmosphere, "Its impolite to come here unannounced Da-Bin Unnie."

"Don't be like that Chu-Hei," A curt voice responded, sounding confident and bold as Da-Bin relaxed herself in the chair across from Chu-Hei, with a small smirk on her lips as she dismissed the coffee that was offered to her. She was more of a tea person than coffee, "It is my money after all that is helping the research facility in LA, so don't act so coldly."

Mumbling beneath her breath, Chu-Hei placed her mug down before glancing at the set of stairs off to the side of the room, wondering if Sera was already awake. If she was, it was best to have Da-Bin leave immediat. With the recent events that have unfolded, she didn't think Sera could handle Da-Bin's overbearing and condescending attitude. The only reason Chu-Hei was able to was because she was dealt the worst, "Your contribution is greatly appreciated, but please try to not abuse your power. Don't you have some photoshoots you need to get to?"

It was a wonder how Chu-Hei ended up meeting Da-Bin.

They worked in two completely opposite fields.

Chu-Hei worked in soul research.

Da-Bin worked in fashion.

These two people should have never met and yet here they are, with Da-Bin's fascination with soul research, she donated millions into the nearest facility where she would stay. In return for her generous donations she would always stop by the research base and interact with the researchers and doctors. Though she mostly spent time in offices then in labs due to protocol, and had access to limited information, that's how she stumbled upon Chu-Hei and Eui a few months back.

Never would Chu-Hei think Da-Bin's son would be her sister's soulmate. It was just all too coincidental to make any sense of connection.

And now Da-Bin was in her dining room, demanding to see Sera, and all Chu-Hei can do is sigh and contemplate calling the police.
