"You lost... You cheated! Say it, say you're not a witch!" Amity exclaimed, pressing onto Luz after being humiliated in front of the Emperor's Coven even though she had cheated as well. This had Amity on edge; she had never been more humiliated before!
After a bit of silence, Luz had stepped back, clearly getting distressed, but decided to show Amity the magic she was capable of: A light glyph. This had left Amity in a bit of a shock; she couldn't believe it. Right before her eyes: A human doing magic! Sure, it may be a glyph and not natural magic, but it's magic nonetheless!
"I'm not a witch, Amity, but I'm training really hard to be one..." she said, still feeling a little dejected from Amity's level of her voice as well as her sour attitude. Even though the young witch had been practicing and training all her life to get to the top, she was really engrossed into Luz's progress even if it was something as small as that. Noticing how Luz is really trying even though she's a human, it made Amity feel immense regret in how she acted.
"Th-That's nothing. A baby could do a light spell, it's nothing special." said Amity, taking a minute to start realizing what she said. That's not what I wanted to say! Luz had looked back at her with hurt in her eyes. Oh no. "It doesn't matter if you can do that, you aren't gonna get far in being a witch, especially if you don't get something as simple as a p-practice wand."
Amity immediately smacked her hand over her mouth. What am I even saying? Why am I being so mean?
"I d-don't n-need a-"
"Save it, human." She hissed. "Im so sick and tired of how things just come your way without you even working hard. How the hell does that light glyph have any significance or any value? Face it, Luz, you won't become a witch, and you never will be a real witch, do you understand me?" Amity looked back at the human, noticing she has backed up a bit, eyes wide, just staring back.
"b-but-"
"God, you should just go back to your world. Did you really think you could make it being out here in the Boiling Isles? Think again. You're nothing but a waste of space here and in your own realm."
Amity spitting out her last few words, she looked back into Luz's eyes. The human had tears streaming down her face. She seriously messed up. Amity not only felt a tinge of fear, but a sense of remorse; sadness. She had coiled back, only now realizing what she had fully said to the human-in-training and immediately went stiff. Luz had wanted to say something, but instead kept her mouth closed and dropped her head down, furrowing her eyebrows and gritting her teeth together before throwing her notepad down on the ground, making Amity flinch at the sound. What the hell... what is wrong with me...?
"L-Luz, I-"
Before Amity could finish, Luz turned her heel and ran away as fast as she could, almost tripping down the stars of the building where the Covention was being held.
"Luz, wait!" Amity yelled out, but Luz didn't even bat an eye. She didn't even show a hint of stopping. Not once.

Luz had never run so fast before. The cold wind cutting against her cheeks made them get rosey and red while being cold, the dirt getting kicked up after each step in her run, the sweat and tears mixing with one another as they drip down her face: Luz was now a hot mess.
After what felt like hours or running, she started to come to halt as she stood in front of the Owl House. She stopped for only a second before barging in, not giving a care for what Hooty had to say. Sorry, Hooty. Making her way to the stairs, she had run into Eda: preferably the last person she wanted to run into at this time.
