Amity had woken up with a crick in her neck, and her body feeling more sore than before. Was the stress and pain she trudged through yesterday that bad? Nonetheless, she had pulled through it all, surprisingly. Sitting up in the bed she was in, she stretched as the morning glow through the window shined in before her, making it feel as if it was what Luz explained to her as 'golden hour.' After a yawn and a rub to the eyes, she looked around to see herself in what seemed to be an unfamiliar room, but she didn't panic.
"It's not home." Amity muttered under her breath, being more relieved than anything. She looked to her side only to see Luz sleeping on the other side of the bed. Normally she'd flush and get all hot and bothered at just the sight itself: a girl that had just slept in the same bed as her, but she didn't really react. She just stared at Luz softly as the golden rays had shone upon her face, making her look beautiful. This made Amity smile, only her cheeks getting warm, and she had kissed Luz on her forehead seeming as she was still asleep. Amity whispered a soft 'Thank you.' and got out of bed to stretch fully. After, she had taken the time to really take in the environment that Luz was living in.
"She really is dedicated, huh?" Amity asked herself, looking at a bunch of witch related books, papers, lists of spells she was, as the notebook said, 'dying to learn', as well as what seemed to be a replica of the hat that The Good Witch Azura would wear. It caught Amity's eye as she herself was an Azura fan, but she didn't dare go sneaking around Luz's room without her knowing.
Without knowing it was there, Amity had stubbed her bare toe on a crate which sent an immediate shock of pain through her foot.
"Ack- damn it!" She exclaimed, not trying to be too loud. She took a look at the crate to find a bunch of empty bottles, some having the tiniest drops of a golden glowing liquid with the labels 'Elixir' as well as 'For Mom.' This had Amity confused as she knew Luz's mom couldn't be here on the Boiling Isles with her; she wouldn't be staying in the Owl House if that were the case. Plus, Luz seemed to be the only track of any human on their realm of the Isles so she decided to not let her brain overthink it so early and had stopped messing with the bottles.
Now that she was awake in a place she was unfamiliar with, she was intrigued to go exploring. She had known Luz stayed with the Owl Lady but she never took into account what it would be like to live with her, let alone sleep in the same house. She had very gently opened the door and closed it, trying to be as quiet as she could, and looked down the to see the flight of stairs. She went to go take a step forward but stopped as she hadn't thought on how cold the floor was against her feet. Amity shivered as she had resumed her walking, having it feel as if she was walking on thin ice.
After every room she passed, she finally reached the top of the stairs. What she had found so far up here was a bunch of what seemed to be junk and a bunch of closets, some with signs saying 'Human Garbage!' or anything related to their realm.
Amity had finally tried her best to creep down the steps, making her way downstairs. It had been easier than she thought but as she touched the last step, a loud creak had been released making Amity freeze where she stood. She had cringed as the sound echoed through the house and coiled back, rethinking if she should just go back upstairs. Just as Amity had turned to walk back to Luz's room, there she was, face to face with the human herself.
"Good morning! How long have you been awake for?" She asked, rubbing the sleepies from her eyes. Come to think of it, Amity hadn't known how long she had been out of the room for, let alone when she woke up.
"I don't know, actually. Maybe 5, 10 minutes?" With a silent 'mm' coming from Luz in response, Amity decided to actually check the time. Since she was on the bottom step with a clear view of the living room of the house, she looked at the clock that hung about in the room which read 9:37 AM. This kinda left Amity surprised; waking up late was not her cup of tea to say the least. She liked getting up bright and early but here it was, almost being 10 in the morning. Though, still just getting up, something important about time management had gone over her head as if it never came to thought.
