New York

Me and Derek have been spending a lot of time together. He went back to LA and came back with a suitcase full of clothes. He asked if he could stay in my hotel room with me, Jess said hell no! So instead, he rented an apartment and we have been going back and forth seeing each other. Today we were going to the Prince concert. Prince gave Derek two free tickets to watch him play at Madison Square Garden. After the concert, we were going to attend the after-party which was going to be crazy fun. I just finished filming and I was anxious to go shopping for something to wear to the concert. Me and Jess drove down to the mall to hit up all the shops.

"What about this dress?" I say coming out of the changing room wearing a skin-tight black dress.

"Uh yeah no, that dress is too revealing for you."

I rolled my eyes and went back into the changing room to try on something else. "Ok, this one?" It was a short blue long-sleeve dress with black straps making a cross in the front.

"No, how come you don't just wear shorts and a T-shirt? You know like something simple." She shrugged.

"Because shorts and T-shirts are boring. Tamara always says to dress your best wherever you're going. And I plan on dressing my best going to Prince's concert." I snap.

"Well, Tamara isn't here," Jess says getting up. She walks around and pulls a pair of ripped blue jean shorts off the rack. Then walks around again and pulls a grey crop top off the rack. She walks back over to me. "Here put that on." She shoves it in my arms.

I walk back into the changing room and put the shorts and crop top on. I walk back out and look at her.

"You look amazing sweety." She spoke softly.

"I look simple." I frowned.

"And simple is beautiful." She smiled.

"Ok well, I still need a dress for the after-party."

"Well, you can pick that blue dress that you tried on earlier. That will be fitting for an after-party." She said getting up and walking to the counter. "Hurry I need to catch some sleep."

"Ugh, you old people always want to sleep." I groaned.

"I heard that!" She yelled at me.

We headed back to the hotel and I showered and started to get ready for the concert. Jess was in my room just talking nonstop about how she went to the KISS concerts, David Bowie concerts, and Aerosmith concerts.

"I know Aerosmith," I said to Jess while putting on my earrings. "I listened to their songs on the album Rock in a hard place." I turned to look at her and she lifted one brow.

"You." She pauses and points at me. "Iman Darlington listening to Aerosmith. Who on earth told you about that album? Cause I know you didn't just pick it up and say I want to listen to Aerosmith?" She laughed sarcastically.
