Jeonghan groaned loudly. He was laying on his bed, the place he spend most of his time in recently, staring at the ceiling that seemed to be so interesting to him. But that wasn't the cause for his foul mood.
You see, today was a special day, a day everyone was supposed to spend with their loved ones or with their friends. But Jeonghan has none of that, in fact, he lost them all not too long ago and was now merely another person on this Earth that had none other option than to spend their Christmas alone.
However, the lack of having his family around wasn't something he was bothered by. In fact, he was well used to it for he had moved out of that big, fancy house just to be away from them. So something as simple as that wasn't the cause for his distress. (Wait..don't tell me..) He groaned. (Don't tell me I miss those two!)
Indeed, even though he wasn't with his family during this holiday, he always spent it with Mingyu and Jun. Of course, they wouldn't act like normal, joy filled kids. Instead, they would go around picking fights with random people as they practiced their pickpocketing skills with a few. Jeonghan chuckled. While everyone else was spent up with finding another living lie, he was dressed up as the grinch, running around as he ruined everyone's life.
And while it was fun for some time, he couldn't help but regret all his decisions he made in his past. Because if it wasn't for his bitterness, he wouldn't have lost Joshua that day.
Jeonghan sighed and sat up. He looked over at his phone and noticed a notification stand out from the rest. Filled with curiosity, Jeonghan pressed on it, taking him to his calendar once he had done so. At this, he couldn't help but widen his eyes. (No way..) he thought. (Don't tell me...that's today)
After a bit of thinking, Jeonghan threw his phone away with a groan. (It doesn't concern me anymore..) He hugged his pillow. (I...don't have anything to do with him anymore..)
Jeonghan had promised himself he would spend Christmas together with Joshua a while ago, when their friendship was still intact. He had planned a trip to the mall just to find the perfect gift, one that would fit the holiday and another important day. Joshua's birthday.
But with this sudden separation, he couldn't do that anymore, could he?. (It's not like I could buy a gift and then give it to him as an apology, right?)
After a few seconds of silence, Jeonghan stood up and dashed to the door. He grabbed his coat, put on his shoes, and headed over to the mall he was supposed to go with Chan.
Once he got there, he dashed pass many stores but wasn't satisfied with any of them. Until, that is, he found a beautiful pair of rings laying on a display table in a jewelry store. Jeonghan asked for them and payed almost instantly, happily waiting for the box to reach his hands and get out of there as soon as possible. As much as Jeonghan loved to go outdoors, the couldn't was always a bother to him anyways.
"Here you go Sir. Have a good day!"
And with that, he got out the door and made his way to the entrance.
But what he didn't expect was to find Joshua right in front of him as he smiled happily with the others.
And just as he was about to approach, Jeonghan couldn't help but stop in his tracks.
Joshua was hugging another guy.
