Chapter 40

   "Are you guys ready?"

   Joshua asked as he placed a bag over his shoulder and across his chest. Today was Christmas, a holiday that was close to none other than his birthday. As a result, his whole friend group had decided to celebrate this day by going to visit the mall and spending most of their time together doing random things. And all of this made Joshua happy.

   To him, this was the perfect way to spend his birthday. All he wished for was to have fun with the people he loves, so making a big party wasn't what he desired. And now that he had people whom he could call family, he found himself to be overjoyed.

   "We're ready!"

   Joshua arched an eyebrow. "Where's Jihoon?And Seokmin"

   "Oh he's with his boyfriend" Seungkwan pouted. "That midget found himself a man and didn't even tell us"

   "Be grateful he isn't here or else he would've already hit you with his guitar" Chan smiled. "As for DK, he went to his hometown to spend time with his parents. So I don't think we'll see him in like a week or so"

    He sighed. "Anyways, I'll go ahead and go to the mall. There's a friend I want you all to meet so I need to make sure he's not lost or something"

   Vernon held a hand to his mouth. "Don't tell me it's-"

   "S-shut up!" Chan yelled. "Don't tell them yet!"

   "WhatishetalkingboutVernon" Seungkwan slurred his words. "Tell me"

   The younger chuckled and pushed him away. "You'll see" He pointed at Chan's hand. "Once he's ready, he'll tell you everything. Right Chan?"

   Joshua widened his eyes. A small box was on his hand.

   "Yeah yeah" Chan said with a blush. "I'll see y'all later ok?" He smiled. "And happy birthday Joshua hyung"

   At this, Joshua couldn't help but laugh. "Thank you Chan" He smiled softly. "I hope everything goes well for you"

   The other looked down. "Yeah...me too" And without further do, Chan turned around and left.

   "We'll better get going then" Vernon pointed at the clock. "It's getting late and I want to have as much fun with the two of you until it's time for the Christmas lights to be turned on"

   "Then.." Joshua smiled and held their hands. "Let's go"

  

   "I'm tired"

   Vernon arched an eyebrow. "Of what? It's been 20 minutes since we got here!"

   He groaned. "I'm tired of your bullshizz!" Seungkwan pointed at the shop. "It's pay one get one free deal! We better go and have a look!"

   "And waste all your savings on things you don't need?!" Vernon pulled him away from the place. "No way!"

   Joshua chuckled and looked over at his phone. He smiled. "Ok you two! Chan said to meet up in the food court and then we'll go look at more things, ok?"

   "Fine by me" Vernon held his stomach. "I'm already getting hungry either way"

   As the other two playfully argued, Joshua smiled to himself. He was having too much fun at this gigantic place. The scenery of the colorful lights filled the ceiling and the shops. It was utterly beautiful to the eye. A landscape he woul never forget

   However, Joshua couldn't help but ponder: how would it feel like to be here with Jeonghan? The person who had stole his heart in the first place?

   The more he thought about it the more he'd feel his insides twist. The feeling was so dreamy he couldn't help but enjoy every second of it. As a result, as they passed by a shop, Joshua stopped to look at the jewelry that was in display. And before he knew it, his eyes were laying on a specific necklace.

   He called over to the staff that was by the counter and asked them for it. In a matter of seconds, the necklace now belonged to him.

   Joshua chuckled to himself and walked over to the others.

   "Happy birthday Joshua" A boy with red hair said to him and showed of his hand. "I'm now Chan's fiance!"

   The other smiled in relief. "Nice t9 see you again Seungcheol! I'm glad everything turned out well"

   "Me too" He chuckled. "I'm glad I wa able to make the right choice this time"

   "You certainly did" Joshua laughed and looked down. "I... seriously hope I do the same thing as you when the time comes"

   "I'm sure you will" Seungcheol smiled. "Hug?"

   "Hug"

   And with that, they both shared a warm hug with eachother. However, Joshua couldn't help but feel a death stare aim at his direction.

   In an instant, Joshua politely pulled away and looked at his side. He widened his eyes.

   "Jeonghan..?"
