THE PAIR had to sneak into the castle as Jungkook instructed. If someone were to catch them with blood all over Nari's shirt and obvious stains on her hands, there's no telling what would happen.
When they arrived back to their shared dorm, he told her to rinse the blood off of herself while he kindly dealt with the clothes. Nari didn't understand why he was suddenly being so genuine. It was like the sight of seeing her slit someone's throat with absolutely no mercy nor remorse had switched a switch in him.
To this day, they hadn't really talked about it but that was three weeks ago. Three weeks. Three weeks into this job and Nari really hadn't gotten anywhere with her mission. She had bet The Ambassador was just as disappointed in her as she was in herself. How hard can it be to kill a prince? Pretty hard apparently.
Kim Seokjin had security rotating around him twenty-four-seven. When Jungkook and Nari were sleeping in their dorm, Seokjin had night guards stationed outside his bedroom. It makes it almost impossible to sneak in, killing him in his sleep.
Nari figured the best way to kill the prince was in the situation of a big crowd to rule herself out of the suspect list. Because although she found herself having lots of alone time with Seokjin these past weeks, she couldn't kill him when Jungkook knew they were alone together.
A big crowd glanced her mind: his birthday party. It would be the perfect time to strike.
Throughout Nari's time here, Jungkook finally trusted her a little more after the whole killing incident—for some reason—just a little though. As a result of this tiny trust, they took shifts being with Seokjin. Right now, it was her shift.
"Checkmate." Seokjin exclaims, calmly leaning back in his chair. Nari furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, looking at the position of the chess pieces on the acrylic board sitting on a small table. Seokjin sits across from her, beaming a positively smug smile.
"Wha- how? We just started a minute ago." She questioned, frustrated that Seokjin has won yet another game five sets in a row. "Again." She desperately urged him, wanting to beat him at least once.
Seokjin laughs at Nari's sudden persistence. "I like you." He states, running his fingers under his chin as he looked at her with a content stare. He narrowed his eyes, observing the new girl in front of him. This was the first time he's ever had a girl protector, of course he'd be intrigued with her, wanting to get to know and understand more about Nari. "Jungkook would never do this with me."
Nari couldn't help but stifle a laugh in a sarcastic disbelief as she shook her head. "Yeah, well Jungkook is a stubborn, mean and boring person. Seriously, I've never seen the man smile." She replied. "Plus, I really don't think he likes me much." She added, hoping seokjin would suggest ways to get to Jungkook's heart, knowing he knows him best.
