AFTER A SEMI-LONG, quiet and overall, awkward car ride, Nari and Jungkook were back on the premises of Aloral. As they drove the streets of the town, Nari noticed how dull it looked. It was no longer the alive and happy town that she remembered seeing her first day here.
With the King dead, Alorians just didn't know what to do anymore. They relied heavily on him. Everything seemed to be falling apart. Jungkook seemed to notice it too, she could tell. However, he didn't say a word as he drives up to the castle.
He was persistent on returning to the kingdom right away. He remembers Seokjjn being so set on coming back, he couldn't ignore checking if he was here first. Even if he wasn't—which Jungkook prayed was false—he had another plan in mind.
Upon approaching the gates, the guards standing there rush to the side of the car. "Sir Jungkook!" They exclaim. "We've been anticipating your appearance for quite some time now! The Queen has been worried sick."
"Please inform her of my arrival as soon as possible." Jungkook replies, hoping to ease the Queen's nerves even just a little.
The guard bows, opening the gates for them to pass through. "As you wish, sir."
"Also, I have to ask." Jungkook pauses, eyeing the guard. This was the only main entrance into the borders of the royal castle, so Nari knew the next words that were to spill from his lips. "Has Prince Seokjin returned to the castle thus far?"
The guard's expression drops. "No, he hasn't, sir. Everyone thought he was with you. What happened?"
"It appears he's fled the area. Call the guards in for an urgent meeting. We have an emergency at our hands." Jungkook replied, keeping his calm. Like Nari at the motel, Jungkook was now the calm one as the guard freaked out.
The guard eagerly nodded before Jungkook drives through the gates, driving to the entrance of the castle and abruptly parking.
Together, Nari and Jungkook get out of the vehicle and walk up the steps of the castle. Nari walks past guards standing there, even spotting Xena who sends her a wary look. Nari sends her a light smile despite being in times of chaos. It catches her quite off guard when she doesn't send one back and she couldn't help but wonder why.
The front doors open for Nari and Jungkook. She walks in, her shoes hitting the familiar polished flooring as her dress from last night trail behind her with every step. The castle was still slightly messy from the masquerade ball from last night, maids scattered everywhere to clean the aftermath.
"What's your plan?" Nari couldn't help but be curious about Jungkook's next move. He was performing so professionally right now, she had never seen him so serious.
She closely followed him down the corridor before he opened the double doors to a massive conference room. "I'm gonna hold a meeting. Weren't you listening?" He deadpanned, his attitude making a reappearance.
