Addison's POV

Adrian led Addison down into a small valley Addison had never seen before. It was beautiful. It had lush trees with emerald leaves and deep brown bark.

He turned away from the splendor of the forest into a grey rock wall with little veins of white. He placed both hands on it and closed his eyes. He was in deep concentration.

Suddenly the veins of white started to glow and the wall vanished. Adrian took Addison's hand down the tunnel.

Different colored veins flowed through the rock. Periodically, glowing rainbow moss hung from the ceiling. It started red at the top and at the very tips was purple. It was beautiful.

"Who made this?" Addison asked.

"The Earth." Adrian smiled. "With a little help from us."

"Who's us?" Addison turned to Adrian with an excited smile.

"Who are you? I don't even know your name!" He laughed as they started walking.

"Oh!" Addison said. "Sorry, I'm Addison Wells." Adrian's smile faded and he bit his lip.

"We need to move." He started walking quickly down the very large tunnel, dragging Addison along.

"Why? What's wrong with my name?"

Adrian didn't say anything. Addison looked ahead and saw a large white pearly gate.

It was lavished with gold. Gold bars, gold accents. Everything screamed wealth.

Addison turned to Adrian. "How can you afford...Why do you have that bag?" He held a cloth square bag about the size of an open book.

He looked down at it debating with himself before in a swift motion, pulled it over Addison's head.

Addison's air supply was cut off as Adrain fastened the bag. Addison gasped as it loosened so it was more comfortable. She breathed in the sickly sweet air. It coated her tongue and into a thick syrupy liquid.

"Why are you doing this?" Addison croaked out. "I thought we were the same kind. The same pack. A family!"

"We are." Came Adrian's muffled voice. "I'm sorry. This is just a precaution. Don't fight it. We're just really protective."

Addison gasped one more time before she fell into a dreamless sleep.

Willa's POV

Willa blinked sleep from her eyes as she yawned. She had stayed up the whole day and night reading. She still hadn't found the mysterious herb Wilmar had been talking about.

It must have been way at the end. It was a large book and Willa had read most of it but she couldn't do it anymore. She needed someone to help her.

Wynter poked her head into the scroll cave. "Hey Willa. How's it going?"

Willa yawned. "Not well. How are you?"

Wynter walked into the room. "I guess I'll be okay. I mean we had tons of wolves die when we didn't have the moonstone and when we were in Containment. It's still sad for me but I think I'll get over it."

Willa gave her a small smile. "Good. I'm glad. Have you seen Wyatt?"

"No. Not since yesterday. I stopped in." Wynter said. "I was still really emotional so I cried most the time while he slept."

"He's been doing that a lot. I think whatever happened is tiring him out." Willa said. "What if..." She stopped. "Never mind."

"What Willa?" Wynter asked. "I'm your friend. You can tell me. You helped me through my brother's death, let me help you."

"It's just I feel like a horrible pack mate when I'm complaining about not having Wyatt when you won't see you brother for a really long time." Willa said.

"At least he's alive now but I can't stop and think, what will happen if we don't find a cure? Or if he dies from whatever happened to him in the woods? I'll never get my brother back again!"

"He's the only family I've got left. I know you just lost your brother so I shouldn't complain, but it's so hard for me. He's always been with me! I've never gone a day without him. Not since Containment and that was horrible."

"I know. I get it. You aren't a bad pack mate. You are so loyal and Wyatt would be proud how you are handling it. We'll get him back and if we don't...you'll see Wyatt again. In the stars." Wynter said.

"Thanks Wynter. Now.." She yawned. "I need to get back to this book."

"Let me help." Wynter said. "He's my friend."

"Really? Thanks!" Willa said.

"Willa! Wynter!" Winona dashed in the Scroll Cave a while later. "You have to come to the Wolf Den! It's the Vampires!"
