"Alpha King! It's great to see you again," The man with brown hair and dark green eyes said to my mate.

Al and the man shook hands in a familiar way while I stood by Al's side "I wish it was under better circumstances, Braxton. Carter was very upset when he heard," Al told Alpha Braxton.

Braxton's face morphed into one of sadness and he asked, "How is Carter?"

"He's doing very well," Al reassured the man.

The man ran his hands through his brown hair in a similar manner to Carter. "I can't wait for the day that my best friend can come home," he mumbled almost to himself.

"It's coming soon. The prophecy has begun," Al told Braxton.

Braxton's head snapped up to Al in shock and he asked, "The man who's meant to kill you and Vaxon has been revealed?"

I crossed my arms and grumbled, "Well... sorta."

"I'm so sorry. Who are you?" Braxton inquired barely noticing me for the first time.

Al wrapped his arm around my waist proudly then proclaimed, "This is my mate, Zylee Lake. She's also the one from the prophecy."

Braxton's eyes went wide and he stared at me with a mix of fear and awe. Al squeezed me a bit tighter and I looked up into his golden eyes.

"Well this is a bit ironic," Braxton mumbled.

I let out a chuckle and nodded my head. "We're well aware," I replied.

"Well nevertheless the Alpha King is very lucky to have a Luna Queen as beautiful as you," Braxton told me as he picked up my hand and shook it.

Al let out a threatening growl then pulled me out of Braxton's hold. "What was it you wanted to show me?" Al asked through gritted teeth.

Braxton looked between the two of us intrigued then blinked a few times. "It's at the edge of our territory. At the spot that Carter made the compromise with Vaxon. I haven't let anyone touch it," Braxton answered Al.

"Can you take us there?" I asked him. Braxton nodded then took off with his werewolf speed. Al and I looked at each other for a moment then took off after him. We almost passed him due to him being a lot slower than us. We backtracked and made it to where we were behind Braxton once again.

Eventually, we stopped and my jaw gaped open in horror. A large tree from the redwood forest was now on its side. Burned into the tree was a message.

The race has begun Alpha
I know they're alive

"Thank you for phoning me Braxton," Al told him, "You should probably leave now."

"Okay, just tell me when you're completely finished with it. Not many tourists come this far in, but that's a risk I'd rather eliminate as soon as possible," Braxton informed us.

I nodded my head then said, "We will." Braxton then disappeared, leaving just my mate and me with the message from Vaxon himself.

"Is the message for my parents, me and my brother, or our pack?" I asked Al.

"Your parents," Al grumbled. My breath got caught in my throat and my head started to spin.

"Zylee?" Al asked taking me into his arms with worry.

I took a deep breath then nodded my head. "I'm okay. Is he going to kill my parents?" I asked him.

"Not likely. His reason for killing them has become pointless. They should be safe," Al told me.

"That's good. What should we do about this?" I asked him.

"There's nothing to do. We'll return to what we were doing before. All this did was confirm our suspicions that Vaxon knows that you exist," Al answered.

I nodded then finally looked away from the tree. This place is beautiful. Truly one of the moon goddess's most generous gifts to the wolves. The giant trees were so tall you couldn't see the tops. Flowers at the bases of the wide trees gave off a wonderful aroma.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Al asked me as he wrapped his arms around me placing his head in the crook of my neck.

"It really is," I answered.

"It's one of my favorite parts of California," Al told me.

"I've never been to California before this," I said.

"What?" Al asked me in shock. I shook my head with a small smile on my face.

"Okay, that's it! I'm taking you on a proper tour once we're back in Hollywood," Al declared to me. I turned in his arms so that I was looking into his golden eyes.

"Really?" I asked excitedly. Al nodded and I squealed then placed a quick kiss on his lips. He's awesome!

"Let's go then!" I said forgetting all about the message from the first rogue. Al let out a laugh, amused with my childish glee.

We took off in our wolves so that we could get back to the center of the Coastal pack. Once we got there we told a random passerby to tell Braxton that we were done looking at the scene.

"Soooo... Hollywood?" I asked excitedly. Al wrapped his arm around me and nodded his head.

About forty minutes later we were walking around someplace where they film movies and television shows. Al had told me the real name, but I've just been calling it the sets since I can't remember it. At this point, it's too late to ask what it was really called.

"How many times have you been here?" I asked him curiously.

He shrugged as we walked behind buildings with people running everywhere creating a fascinating chaos. "Only a few times. Before I met you I couldn't age, so I didn't want anyone getting a picture of me," he replied.

"Well I'm very glad that you're not so scared of cameras anymore," I teased with a smirk.

"With you by my side, I'm not scared of anything," he said taking my hand and intertwining it with his.

"Hi! I'm so sorry to bother you but can we talk for a second?" We heard a frantic male voice behind us. We quickly turned around and were met with a short man with crystal blue eyes and a slightly balding blonde head.

"Can we help you?" I asked him feeling a bit weirded out and wary.

"Maybe. Are you two married?" He asked desperately. Al and I looked at each other in the eyes and came to a silent agreement.

"Yes," we both lied without hesitation. Saying we're married would be easier to explain to a human. Soulmates are not a universal thing.

"Great! How would you two like to be on tv and have the chance to win 10,000 dollars?" He asked in a rush. Do what now?

"Uhhh. What tv show?" Al asked seeming just as taken aback as me.

"It's called Love Knows. It's a version of the newlywed game," he explained to us. Al's face immediately morphed into one of confusion. Has he never seen the newlywed game?

"We'll do it!" I answered without really thinking and just wanting my mate to experience the newlywed game.

"Oh thank God! Our third couple dropped out and we're going on the air in five minutes," the man exclaimed. Al gave me a glare and I smiled nervously. "Okay so follow me and we'll get you all set up real quick!" The man told us then instantly turned on his heels and walked towards a red door.

Al whispered so quietly that only I could hear him with my enhanced hearing, "What the hell is the newlywed game?"

"It's where newlywed couples answer absurd questions about the other, and whoever gets the most right wins," I answered him. He nodded his head and looked a bit green as we walked through the red door and into a different world.
