"Are you sure this is going to work?" I asked Al as I watched Dave kiss his family goodbye.

Dave held his mate in his arms for an extra second, then kissed her forehead and left. "It has to," Al whispered to me. We watched as the three she-wolves started to cry and hug each other.

"Al we need to get things ready for the second part of the plan," I told him. He managed to rip his gaze away from the separated family and looked at me.

He nodded and said, "You're right. We should give Jerry some money so he can get the defense perimeter up while we're gone."

"I can't believe we're leaving my uncle in charge of the pack," I mumbled still shocked.

"Trust me I don't love it either, but there's no other option. Carter has to come with us," Al reminded me.

"We could've left Hayley or Nora in charge," I muttered.

"Yeah, but if your uncle thinks he's in charge then he'll do less damage because he'll be trying to be responsible," Al responded.

"Hopefully we don't regret this," I told him.

"We won't be gone long. Seriously what could he do in a day?" Al asked jokingly.

"Don't jinx it," I shot back. Al looked at me with amusement and gave me a half-smile.

'Okay it's all ready,' Carter mind-linked Al and me.

'Great, we need to leave immediately so get to the cabin ring as soon as you can,' I mind-linked back.

'Got it. Be there in a few seconds,' he answered.

"Are you sure I don't need to pack anything?" Al asked me.

I rolled my eyes and told him, "I'm pregnant, not disabled. Plus my hunter gene makes it to where I don't have any side effects from the pregnancy."

"I know. I just worry," Al admitted.

Carter appeared next to us with a smirk on his face. "Well I never thought I'd see the day that the Alpha King was actually worried," Carter teased. Al growled at Carter and I couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

"Let's go," I said ending the conversation. I sped off with my werewolf speed and I could hear the boys behind me.

It took longer than usual for us to get to White Lake. "Carter, I swear if you don't stop complaining I'm going to stab you," I snapped at the blonde-haired man.

"I thought you weren't getting mood swings from your pregnancy?" Carter shot back.

I turned around to face him and growled. I looked at his ugly scrunched-up face and I lunged at him. Al quickly held me back as I tried to claw out Carter's brown eyes.

"Zylee calm down, and Carter shut the hell up," Al yelled.

I mumbled profanities as Al let me go. I turned away from Carter and my mate and stomped the rest of the way to my parent's house.

The off-white home was in much better shape than it had been when we were last here. Mom was working in the front yard in her red tank top and shorts. Her blue eyes saw us and a huge smile came onto her face.

"Holy crap, who is that?" Carter asked.

"My mother," I answered.

"What's going on with her chest?" He asked in shock.

"I was kidnapped and tortured before I met Zylee's father, and who might you be?" Mom asked from a distance where most humans can't even hear.

Carter's face turned a bit red at being caught. "I'm Carter ma'am," Carter answered as the tall blue-eyed woman closed the distance between us.
