"Way to complicate things Carter," I told him crossing my arms.

Carter's brown eyes shot to me and a look of complete hate came to his face. "I just found my mate and you're mad?" Carter asked me.

"Yes, I'm mad! You're an asshole and the only person who was decent to me when I was growing up is now your mate!" I yelled.

"Zy, calm down," Kylie tried to reason with me.

"Did you just tell me to calm down?" I asked angrily.

Kylie's face went pale and she tried hiding from me behind Carter's back. "Oh this isn't good," Al muttered as he pinched his nose with his thumb and pointer finger.

"I don't need to calm down! If anything I should stress how important it is for you two not to screw anything up!" I grumbled at them.

"Zylee, it's alright," Mom tried to reassure me.

"You don't get it, do you? There are people that Vaxon will murder if we fail. If we fail then my mate, me, and my baby will all die, and the rest of the world will be subjected to an insane power-hungry rogue!" I said forcefully as I gritted my teeth.

"You're pregnant?" Kylie asked.

"Really? That's all you got from that?" I questioned.

"Well, it seemed like the most surprising thing from that rant," Kylie admitted as she shrugged her shoulders.

I turned to Al and asked, "Do we really need two more hunters? We can't just take one?"

"Sorry sweetheart, but we can't," Al told me.

"Plus I'm not leaving her," Carter declared.

"It's not like we really need you," I snapped at him.

"Actually... yeah we do," Al reminded me. I groaned at his words and rolled my eyes.

"Maybe you should go for a walk. Show the Alpha King the territory. We'll take Carter to the pack hospital," Mom suggested to me.

"Sounds like a great idea Matelynn," Al told Mom and started to drag me away. Al got me through the tree line that we had come from. Once we were far enough to where no one could hear us Al stopped and turned to me with a confused face.

"What is wrong with me?" I asked Al, shocked at my previous words.

"I think you just experienced your first pregnancy side effect," Al mumbled.

"No that's not possible," I replied.

"Well that was before we marked each other," Al told me.

"I hate that you're right," I said. Al wrapped his arm around me and we started to walk through the woods.

"Just think, you have something to talk about with Judy and Nora now," Al snickered.

"I know I complained in the past about not being able to connect with the pack, but this is not what I wanted," I grumbled.

"What is it people say? Careful what you thought for?" Al asked jokingly.

"No. You totally butchered that. It's 'be careful what you wish for'," I told Al with a smile.

"Yeah well... whatever. Same concept," Al defended.

"Whatever you need to hear," I teased.

"Well maybe I do need to hear it," he said with a smile.

"Well babe then you heard it," I replied.

"Okay. Say it," Al prompted me.

I stopped my walking and he lurched until he stopped his momentum. "I'm not going to say it. You can have that takeaway, but I ain't gonna say crap," I shot at him.

"I love you," Al all of a sudden told me. What brought this on?

I couldn't help the smile from coming on my face as I saw his bright golden eyes. "I love you too," I told him.

"So... what are you going to show me?" Al asked as he grinned at me.

"Well, what do you want me to show you?" I responded with a grin of my own.

"I want you to show me everything you can," Al answered as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"You wanna meet my grandparents?" I asked not able to think of anything he hasn't already seen.

"I thought your grandparents were dead," Al mumbled confusedly.

"Not my mom's parents," I corrected him.

"The hunter ones?" Al asked shocked.

"Well, my grandpa is one. We have no idea about my grandma though," I admitted to him.

"I would love to meet your grandparents," Al declared then placed a tender kiss on my forehead.

I smiled up at him and got out of his arms. I grabbed his hand and started to drag him towards my grandparent's cottage-like house.

"Oh, we're going right now?" Al asked with a chuckle as he started to walk with me. I nodded my head and started running. Al chased me all the way to my grandparent's house.

We were on the lawn about to walk up to my grandparent's porch when I grabbed his arm to stop him. "I totally forgot to tell you. They have no idea about werewolves," I informed him.

"What? How is that even possible? What do they think happened at your parent's wedding? Or where your mom and uncle are living now?" Al asked completely shocked.

"My parents just told them that one of her crazy fans that were obsessed with her kidnapping case shot up the place. As far as the living situation goes they think White Lake is a town, not a pack," I told him.

"How have they not figured it out?" Al questioned with his eyebrow raised.

I shrugged then told him, "I don't know and I don't care. Don't tell them."

"Fine," Al grumbled out. We walked up the steps to the porch and I knocked on the door.

A few seconds passed then the door swung open. My grandma was at the door and she was in shocked silence for quite a bit of time. Her blue eyes went back and forth between Al and me.

"Zylee, who is this?" Grandma asked me with a smirk on her face.

"I'm her fiancé," Al answered for me then stuck out his hand for her. He's my what?

"Oh my! Come in! Come in!" Grandma squealed. She opened the door wider and motioned for Al to go in. Al gave her an award-winning smile then walked into the house. I went to go in behind him, but Grandma grabbed my arm and stopped me.

"I want an explanation," Grandma whispered to me.

I looked from her to Al who was now sitting on the couch talking to Grandpa. "Me too," I replied.
